SOURCE: LG DLE5977 Electric Dryer
Below are some solutions that other customers have cited. The control board seems to have a glitch in it, so I would take it back and get a replacement. New product is covered by a factory warranty or a dealer replacement guarantee.
My husband and I just BARELY bought an LG Electric Dryer. I'ts model #DLE2516W. As soon as you hit the power button, "check filter" comes on. The right after that, the error code "Te1" flashes and it does nothing but beep. Clearly, the filter has NOTHING in it because I've never run a load of clothes thru it. When I look in the troubleshooting section of the owners manual, it tells me that this means that the thermistor is open and needs to be replaced. But I'm confused as to why a BRAND NEW dryer already needs a part replaced. Can ANYONE please help me. I have lots of laundry to do. Haha!
Comment by Amanda02, posted on Sep 11, 2007 Well... we took it back to Home Depot and they are replacing it. i was trying to fix it because it takes 3 weeks to get a new one. They don't have any in stock!! And it takes 3 darn weeks to get a new one.

The thermistor or thermal fuse is about an inch long and is inside the rear of the dryer and is usually attached to or near the exhaust duct. It can be tested using a multimeter or ohmmeter. Check for continuity. A lack of continuity indicates a blown thermal fuse. Hope this helped and best wishes.

SOURCE: I have replaced the thermistor
Hello, welcome to FixYa.
I'll start by saying your post indicates it is a Amana dryer, (as you may or may not know this model is built by Samsung) and it is displaying a e5 error (actually looks like a e5 error, but it is indeed t5 but that's because of the digital display)...it is actually a "temperature sensor" error, hence the "ts".
As described in the service manual from Maytag...
"tS" Dryer Thermistor Short Sensed - The Thermistor resistance is very low.
Clogged lint screen. (remove and wash under hot water & mild soap...a old toothbrush works well for scrubbing)
Restricted vent system.
Check Thermistor resistance...10000 ohms @ 77°F/25°C
If you've replaced the thermistor already, that leaves either poor air flow due to clogged lint screen or clogged exhaust somewhere else along the line. Here's what I would suggest you try. Remove the lint filter (clean it as mentioned above) and unfasten the vent from the back/side of the dryer, whatever the case on your machine. Run it through a cycle without a load and post back with the results.
I can send you the service manual if you think it may help you move forward,(It says Maytag, but those are Amana/Samsung as well) but you'd need to provide an email address for me to attach it to. It is a "pdf" and 9.9mb in size.
I'll watch for your reply.

SOURCE: I am getting the E1
Yes i concur...the F1 error code does mean that the Thermister is defective and needs to be replaced.
It fits the housing where the lint filter is and you can remove the panel below the main front panel where the door is mounted .
The part number for the THERMISTER is 8577274 it could be purchased at your local appliance parts store or online at;
