Question about Washing Machines

Connecting washing machine to water

I bought second hand hotpoint wmtl79-d/dg and there's no manual with it, I need to connect it to the water, and there's two water hoses I guess, why? And what do I do with it? I thought should be just one to put to the water spiurce? cheers Joanna

One for hot water one for cold.
They both must be hooked up or water will run on the floor.

is it spinning at all? if so then check ur pump for obstruction or bad propeller, if not check door switch, clutch, motor coupler, belt etc

The tube goes to the pressure switch and to the bottom of the drum, if it is not connected the machine will continue to fill as the switch is not being told it is full and now needs to change to next part of wash.
Pressure switch is a circular unit located at the top of the machine and has a couple of wires to it.

No cold water coming out

Check where the hose connects to the washer sometimes their is a screen filter in their. If not the valve that controls the water input could be bad. Most of those valves are where the hoses hook to the washer.

Can u run hotpoint wmtl79-d/dg washing machine just on cold water

yes it can be used only on cold water
if what your asking is that if you only have one hose to connect to it that cant be done the water valve where the hoses attach to must be capped off on the hot side or water will leak out of it
so yes only cold be used but must cap off hot side inlet at machine

Probably caused by a bad connection, or loose wire, nothing more serious than that .

Hotpoint WMTL79 Top Load Washer. no water entering the drum.

Remove the front panel and open the control panel.
Remove the platic hose from the water level switch and the air dome on the side of the tub.
Clean the soap out of the air dome hole witha toothpick Blow through the plastic hose. Re-connect everything. Set the washer to spin and turn it on for 1 minute.
Then run a regualar wash cycle.

Hotpoint aquarius wd440 confusion over washing machine pipes

Hi is there another valve? If so then you can connect them by a Y piece. Problem solved.....
