Hello, When your TV changing different channels it mean your TV main broad is defected. You needed to replace another main broad.

SOURCE: Astar TV shut itself off and never can turn it back on

did you check the power supply capacitors, all the models of astar had this problem. You can tell the bad ones because they are puffed up on top. This fixed my problem and many other peoples. They used cheap parts so cheap results, they are out of business

I have had similar experiences. I have a VCR sitting near the television. I found that if I keep the VCR turned on then the TV stops changing channels by itself. If the VCR is turned off, then it starts again. Weird, but it worked for some reason.

I have a sony tv and cant get sound on 3 different channels..the other tv in the house is fine

that's a weird one. You might check your audio settings to make sure it is not on SAP (secondary audio programming) sometimes that will cause lack of audio on certain channels since some have it and some don't

Mind of it's Own

Astar LCD tv are famous using cheap capacitors in their power supply board as componnents, these capacitors are leaking gases, they bulges up,puff up.That why one ur tv is dead. The other tv is unstables changing channel on it own.U know basic electronics, and soldering?Take both of ur tv aparts.Searches all around the power supply board.Look for these bulges up,puff up capacitors, replaced these capacitors. Both ur tvs will work normal again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy two whole refurbish power supply boards to replaced each one of ur tv.

Channel keeps changing on its own

things to try:

1 look for a remote stuck in a couch(or other near place) that is barely peaking out enough to change the channel.

2. Check that the channel up or down button is not stuck on the tv and or any remote that is set up for it.

3. Find the tv's infrared sensor and cover it with your hand or tape. If the channel changing stops then something is emitting infrared that is causing it to channel hop (occasionally security systems can cause this to happen) also some kids toys. Anything that emits infrared light basically.

once you have found the source (neighbor with the same brand tv for example) or a remote with the cushion pressing the button for you. then you will should be good.

Invalid Input-turning off seeting

I have the same problem in the office, but, not at home. I believe the IR sensor is confused by office florescent lighting, which has an unperseptible 60-cycle flicker not charactoristic of home incandescent lighting. Energy saving compact florescent probably have the same effect.

I have attached a dark tube over the sensor with relative success. This cluge is an unfortunate compensation for poor engineering because of the reduced angle of reception (the remote has to be directly in front of the sensor).
