SOURCE: new furnace flame rollout

Have you checked the venting either on the side of the house or on the roof ? did you or the company who installed it go by the specs on how many elbows and length of the venting run ? It also sounds like you have some blockage somewhere, if your in a climate that has alot of snow or some type of freezing rain, your intake or exhaust could be plugged by ice or snow, if so, a quick solution for this is if you have a shop vac , take the tube and hook it up to the exhaust side of the vac, then place the vac tube into the 2" vent wrap a rag around that to make a better air seal, then turn the unit on, if ice is the problem it will blow it right out ! if this does not fix the problem, I would consult the company who installed it and have them come take a look, should be no charge if the system is new, hope this advise helped, please rate this and let us know how we did, thanks for your qquestion,

Unfortunately that means there's a hole in the heat exchanger, particularly in that cell of it. When the main blower comes on the air is pushed into the heat exchanger, causing the flame rollout. A heat exchanger crack or blowout is usually what condemns a furnace for good. Goodmans however, have a lifetime warranty on their heat exchangers, so you'll probably be able to find someone to replace it pretty cheap, or do it yourself for free.

My Carrier WeatherMaker 8000 furnace is blinking a red light 2 times pauses then blinks red 4 times with a pause between the 4 times

They are listed inside the front panel of the main unit.
LED CODE
EACH OF THE FOLLOWING STATUS CODES IS A TWO DIGIT NUMBER WITH THE FIRST

DIGIT DETERMINED BY THE NUMBER OF SHORT FLASHES AND THE SECOND DIGIT BY
THE NUMBER OF LONG FLASHES.
STATUS

11 NO PREVIOUS CODE - Stored status code is erased automatically after 72
hours. On RED LED boards stored status codes can also be erased when power
(115 VAC or 24 VAC) to control is interrupted.
12 BLOWER ON AFTER POWER UP (115 VAC or 24 VAC) -Blower runs for 90
seconds, if unit is powered up during a call for heat (R-W closed) or R-W opens
during blower on-delay.
13 LIMIT CIRCUIT LOCKOUT - Lockout occurs if the limit or flame rollout switch is
open longer than 3 minutes.
- Control will auto reset after three hours. - Refer to #33.
14 IGNITION LOCKOUT - Control will auto-reset after three hours. Refer to #34.
21 GAS HEATING LOCKOUT - Control will NOT auto reset.
Check for: - Mis-wired gas valve -Defective control (valve relay)
22 ABNORMAL FLAME-PROVING SIGNAL - Flame is proved while gas valve is
de-energized. Inducer will run until fault is cleared. Check for:
- Leaky gas valve - Stuck-open gas valve
23 PRESSURE SWITCH DID NOT OPEN Check for:
- Obstructed pressure tubing. - Pressure switch stuck closed.
24 SECONDARY VOLTAGE FUSE IS OPEN Check for:
- Short circuit in secondary voltage (24VAC) wiring.
31 PRESSURE SWITCH DID NOT CLOSE OR REOPENED - If open longer than
five minutes, inducer shuts off for 15 minutes before retry. Check for:
- Excessive wind - Proper vent sizing - Defective inducer motor
- Low inducer voltage (115VAC) - Defective pressure switch
- Inadequate combustion air supply - Restricted vent
- Disconnected or obstructed pressure tubing
- Low inlet gas pressure (if LGPS used)
If it opens during blower on-delay period, blower will come on for the selected
blower off-delay.
33 LIMIT CIRCUIT FAULT - Indicates a limit, or flame rollout is open. Blower will
run for 4 minutes or until open switch remakes whichever is longer. If open
longer than 3 minutes, code changes to lockout #13. If open less than 3 minutes
status code #33 continues to flash until blower shuts off. Flame rollout switch
requires manual reset. Check for: - Restricted vent
- Proper vent sizing - Loose blower wheel - Excessive wind
- Dirty filter or restricted duct system.
- Defective blower motor or capacitor. - Defective switch or connections.
- Inadequate combustion air supply (Flame Roll-out Switch open).
34 IGNITION PROVING FAILURE - Control will try three more times before lockout
#14 occurs. If flame signal lost during blower on-delay period, blower will come
on for the selected blower off-delay. Check for: - Control ground continuity
- Flame sensor must not be grounded
- Oxide buildup on flame sensor (clean with fine steel wool).
- Proper flame sense microamps (.5 microamps D.C. min., 4.0 - 6.0 nominal).
- Gas valve defective or gas valve turned off - Manual valve shut-off
- Defective Hot Surface Ignitor
- Low inlet gas pressure
- Inadequate flame carryover or rough ignition
- Green/Yellow wire MUST be connected to furnace sheet metal
45 CONTROL CIRCUITRY LOCKOUT Auto-reset after one hour lockout due to;
- Gas valve relay stuck open - Flame sense circuit failure
- Software check error
Reset power to clear lockout. Replace control if status code repeats.
If status code recall is needed, briefly remove then reconnect one main limit wire to display
stored status code. On RED LED boards do not remove power or blower door before initiatingstatus code recall. After one status code recall is completed component test will occur.

Furnace blowing cold air

Try pulling the rubber hose off the inducer power vent motor housing and pressure switch. Make sure the barbed fittings are clear of debri (with a small allen wrench) and the hose is clear. Re-attach & run test.
A limit might also be open...check the flame rollout limit center manual reset & press in.

Amana 80 sse flame rollout sensed what does this mean and how do I fix.

The flame rollout switch is located in the burner box on the left side on an upflow model. There are two wires connected to it .between the two connections is a small red button. Depress this until you here a small click. This should reset the switch. These
switches usually open because the flame is "rolling" back instead of being drawn into the furnace.start furnace and check for flame rollout.when the main blower fan comes on if you notice any change in the flame turn furnace off and call a qualified service person as this could indicate a cracked heat exchanger and could cause carbon monoxide to enter the house a potentially dangerous situation. I strongly urge anyone with a gas appliance installed to have a good carbon monoxide(CO) detector installed also. Hope this helps.

Rollout switch continues to trip

If you have a cracked heat exchanger this will cause the flames to rollout and trip this switch. Its meant to stop the furnace from running and putting carbon monoxide in your home. Watch the furnace as it tries to light if when the gas valve opens and flame is established it should go into the tubes heat the heat exchanger and then your main blower motor will come on. When your main blower comes on is usually when you see the flames rollout and trip that switch. If this happens you can either buy a heat exchanger or new furnace if its a older unit Obama still has that awesome tax credit til 12-31-2010.

Model G5RA096C-16 motherboard light flashes one time pauses then flashes again and so on. The furnace turns on and blower turns on but does not heat. What does the flashing light mean?

Your furnace is off on a safety limit. Look for small thermal disks around the burner area they will have a usually red switch in the center and 2 wires coming into it. Reset this and watch furnace run. These are called rollout switches and they trip when you have flame rollout. SO WATCH IT RUN. If you have flame rollout you will most likely have a cracked heat exchanger if so you will need a new heat exchanger or new furnace. Next the number of flashes is important on some furnaces it will tell you what part is faulty. Count the flashes then on one of the furnace covers is the wiring diagram it will tell you what the flashes mean otherwise you can tell me and Ill help you out, WHen you reset the power on the furnace does it try to heat tell me what all happens when you shut the switch off then back on. when you turnit back on make sure the stat is calling for heat,

Ruud gas pack cuts off after a short heating session. Only can start by resetting rollout switch. What could be wrong?

burners could be rusted blocking gas from getting across , so it pockets up and ignites all at once ,there also could be a partial blockage in heat exchanger but this is unlikely, or more seriously the heatexchanger could be rusted out with large holes in it so when blower comes on the positive pressure pushes flame back. either way when the roll out switch is tripped it indicates a pretty serious and potentially harmful issue that should be inspected and diagnosed by a reputible company.

My York furnace is giving the error message for "rollout switch open"...when it does that, the flame does not ignite and the fan blows cool air. However, if I remove the panel from the furnace,...

Roll out switches are sometime wired together with limits. Lack of air flow. Limits reset themselves and roll outs have to be manually reseted. Could be dirty blower,a.c. coil on furnace, or filter.
