Follow this section troubleshooting and fix it. God bless you
Clean an iron:

  1. Unplug the iron and make sure it is cool before cleaning.
  2. Use a toothpick or pipe cleaner to remove buildup in the steam vents, making sure the debris doesn't fall into the vents.
  3. Use a fine sewing needle to carefully clean the spray nozzle of mineral deposits.
  4. To flush sediment from a steam iron, pour 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup vinegar into the water tank. Place the iron on a rack over a broiling pan and set the iron to steam until the tank runs dry. Repeat if necessary. Or follow the instructions for using a commercial iron cleaner.
Service the steam and spray mechanism:
  1. Unplug the iron.
  2. Use a fine sewing needle to unclog the steam valve assembly. Also, check the valve spring and replace it if it is broken or has lost tension.
  3. If the spray pump is accessible, remove it and check for leaks by placing the spray tube in water and squirting the pump. Clean or replace as needed.

I've a meile fashion master B2826 the indicator light flashes amber 8 times and the red indicator lights up red. I have tried removing the residual water container as per the manual but does not work

Try again exactly according to the operating instructions:
1. Switch off the appliance.
2. Clean and dry the metal contacts on the residual water drawer.
3. Switch the appliance on again and remedy the fault as follows:
- Push the residual water drawer into the appliance and leave it there for at least 20 seconds.
- Remove the residual water drawer again. Then empty and dry it.
- After at least 20 seconds, push the drawer back into the appliance.
The appliance is now ready for use and will continue the process started before the fault occurred.
4. Switch the appliance off and then back on again.

If the indicator light continues to flash, call Miele.

Why does the engine light start flashing when i brak

stop immediately, call AAA for a tow to your mechanic.
Generally a flashing "Check Engine" light requires immediate attention to avoid possibly very expensive engine damage.
If you have a friend like me locally who has a OBD Engine analyzer, you get the error codes, translate the code for free and fix it yourself if you have the skills. I got my Innova Brand at WalMart for $120 in Hawaii. Mechanics will charge $100 to hook up the analyzer, plus $60/hr minimum service fee.

Not heating up, flashing light

It sounds like you have a loose wire, check your plug to make sure the wire connections are sound. The loose connection may be where the wire enters the iron its self. For saftey I would have this repaired by a professional or have it replaced.

Autoshut off red light keeps flashing

I had the same problem and eventually removed the tilt sensor. This is the molded board that you see when you open the back of the iron. By removing it, you will also loose the timer off function. The thermostat will still be operational.

Red light flashing

Blinking red light is a standby phase, its not going to get hot like this. Shake it or just start ironing, the red light will go solid and the plate will heat up. The red light will go off when the plate is hot enough. It will go on again (solid) after a few minutes to keep the plate at the right temperature. If you leave it standing around for a while it will begin blinking again (standby).

These irons are known for malfunctioning though, mine stays in standby and the plate never heats up! Hopefully yours is fine.
