When I type admin and then the password it dosent work, How can I reset the password to original setting

Method One of Three:
Perform a Hard Reset

1. 1 Turn off your computer.
2. 2 Unplug or turn off your DSL/cable modem.
3. 3 Locate, on the back of your Linksys router, the small button that reads Reset.
4. 4 Straighten a paper clip and insert the end into the opening for the Reset button. Turn on or plug in your router while you hold down the Reset button. Hold the button for 30 seconds.

Perform a Soft Reset

1. 1 Open your browser and type "192.168.1.1/" into the address bar. This address is the default IP address for your Linksys router.
2. 2 Type your username and password into the fields.If you haven't changed them from their original settings, the default username and password are "admin" and "admin".
3. 3 Click on the Administration tab. Select Factory Defaults and click "Yes" beside Restore Factory Defaults.
4. 4 Click on Save Settings. Turn off your router for 10 seconds and then turn it back on to reset it.[2]

Reset Your IP Address.

1. 1 Enter "192.168.1.1/" into your browser's address bar. Enter your username and password, or enter the default username "admin" and the default password "admin".
2. 2 Look for the network settings of the ISP under the setup menu. Write them down just in case you need to reenter them later. Enter the hostname and the domain name to be placed in the DNS settings.

Not in English, but the video shows you how to factory reset it. This will clear all settings and will default the admin user and password to the original defaults before you changed them.

You can either connect to the router by Ethernet and change the wifi password or You need to reset the router, typically by pressing the small button on the back for 15 seconds.

plug it directly to your computer like you would if it was online, but make sure its not connected to the internet,

Then open internet explorer, Type in 192.168.1.1 it will open the menu for the hardware and from their you can redo the original settings,

If it asks for a usernam and password its almost always Admin and blank password if not the password could be admin again or the word password.

Open up your browser and type in the address bar "192.168.1.1" This is the native address of the router unless you have changed it.
Then go to maintenance and select password. Change it and your all set. If you need the original logon & password it is
User=Admin
password=password

You need to reset the router. Unplug the router. Hold the reset button down with a paper clip. While holding the reset button down, re-plugin the power. After fifteen seconds, release the reset button.

Your router should be back to its original state. You should be able to login at 192.168.1.1 with admin/admin.

if you feel you are apart distance than other peoples wifi connections and safe,, then you can diable pass word in settings,,and log to your sons notebook..

Hi!

Press the reset button for 10 seconds. It set the factory default
settings. The router will erase all information, the DSL settings too.

After that you can login in with the default password, via web
interface:

http://192.168.1.1

username: admin
password: admin

The default username and password is admin/admin.

Generally you have to push and hold the reset button, i suggest for 30 seconds, this should completely reset the unit, including passwords and settings.

I am not sure of the models but on the rack mount Edgeforce product your suppose to hold the reset pin while powering up until the Alarm light turns on, take 2-3 mins. Default user/password is admin/admin.

Fair warning I have one that is locked right now as well and a reset is not resetting and I can no longer log into it either. Anyone with ideas?
