You have to disassemble it as far as you can...and then totally dry it out..immeresed in water is almost a death sentence because it will short out...so don't get your hopes up.

Take the battery out right away, dry it off..REAL GOOD...there must be no liquid residue on the battery...might use a hair dryer... set it on a paper towel....hold on to the phone and "sling" it so you can remove as much "standing" water as you can, you don't want any large quantities of water inside...then grab some Q-tips wedge them inside hard to reach areas...collect as much water as possible, sling...swab...sling...swab...watch out for leaving any cotton behind...you will have left over mositure so let it sit at room temp, turning it over every 4 hours or so...for at least 24 hours.

Sounds sorta silly...but I've saved things silimar before that didnt short out right off. Good luck!
When you are sure its dry...totally dry...install the battery and plug it in.

Have Uniden EX14560 and do not know how to turn ringer back on..can you help me?

Do you mean the Uniden EXI4560 2.4 GHz phone? With the handset in standby, press the volume up button (above End and just below the LCD screen). Then you will be able to toggle between the 5 available ring tones and volume levels. (I'm assuming the unit is set to Ringer Off which is another choice in the list.) Press End to confirm and save your ring volume setting.

Most Uniden manuals are available from Uniden on the product page or the support page. The product page is http://www.uniden.com/cordless-phones/24-ghz-extended-range-cordless-technology/invt/exi4560g/ . Then go to the Manuals tab. The direct link to the EXI4560 manual is http://www.uniden.com/content/ebiz/uniden/resources/ownersmanuals/EXI4560om.pdf .

All of the Uniden manuals are here: http://www.uniden.com/scat/cordlessphones_mnl . Use the drop down menu to select the type of phone and then find it in the list by numerical and alphabetical order. The EXI4560 is on page 4 under cordless phones.

I hope this helps.

I have an Uniden power max 5.8 GHz home phone but don't have the owners manual the handset won't ring and a icon of the bell on the screen is X ed out. i can't seem to figure out how to turn the ringer...

Sounds like the handset needs to be re-associated with the base unit.

If the manual for the Uniden PowerMax manual on the FixYa website for manuals is not the correct manual, go to the Uniden website and locate the manual there.

My uniden powermax 5.8 ghz set itself to Do Not Disturb.

The do not disturb feature (DND) allows you to mute the ringer, the base, and any registered handsets at the same time. The phone must be in standby mode. Press and hold do not disturb on the base. You will hear a confirmation tone, and the DND LED illuminates. To cancel the DND feature, press do not disturb again. You can also mute the ringer tone while the phone is ringing by pressing do not disturb on the base.
Activating the DND while the answering system is off will turn the answering system on automatically. The answering system setting will reset to the original setting when you cancel the DND.
If you press answer on/off when the DND and the answering system is on, both of the DND and the answering system will turn off.
To mute the ringer tone temporarily for each handset or the base, when the phone is ringing, press the MUTE soft key on the handset or the base. The ringer tone will return to the previous setting starting with the next incoming call.

Uniden DECT 6.0 2080-2 rings for no reason

These DECT 6.0 phones work on 1.9 Ghz frequency and should not have any interference other than from another DECT 6.0 phone that can be within 150 ft of your phone. That means that somebody, a neighbor that has a DECT 6.0 phone close by is causing this problem. It also means that they are also getting these phantom phone rings. The best solution? Go to a 5.8 Ghz phone and your problem should go away.

GE 5.8 ghz cordless model 25922

as with all devices which return to base for charging, the life of the re-chargeable batteries is shortened if it is constantly trickle-charged, so as with a moble phone, it is good to sometimes let it run down completely and re-charge as the battery charge will last longer, batteries are like muscles, they need excercise.
