Question about Computers & Internet
I have one of these drives in my Dell PE 1300 and was in Windows 2000 Server edition and it used to work flawlessly. I was in process of moving, and it sat in storage in my Aunt's garage from March 31st until the following July (1 year ago) but like a dummy? I had forgot to take the tape out. I have done all the steps I have read> http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/storage/f/1216/p/19527699/20457959.aspx and I was able to manually eject it, but now it will not take a tape. I have just the past few days, reloaded OS to Server 2003 R2 and still have the same problem, hence me suspecting it is not software or firmware related anymore...but something is still "inside" stuck? Thanks in advance, Jim
A garage is a damp place, the best thing to do is leave the unit in a warm dry place and allow the unit to dry out completely. This should fix your problem, although the damp may have caused damage to the delicate tape heads and bearings.

If this is happening on all workstations you should look at your network settings and verify that your DNS settings are correct. Also look in the error logs on the server to see if it is fillingup with system or application errors.

SOURCE: I have a seagate SCSI
did you terminate the scsi chain accordingly?.. you may have to do that physically on the scsi controller and your scsi drive (check your manuals or the device themselves.. make sure also they're using different id's.
after checking termination and id's i would check the seagate's website for an updated driver or the the windows update website (manual update) to see if there's something new...
hope that helps!
