Question about Oasis Hunter 54' Ceiling Fan

3 Answers

Put ceiling fan up, blades are not on yet.

Turned on to see if it works, lights work, but motor doesn't turn around. Could the motor not be turning around because the blades are not attached yet?

I would check the inner wire connection. I had the same problem and where the light and the fan connects some of the wires that were in the connecting plug were just slightly pulled out.

No. As you were assembling the wire from the fan motor to the house wiring, there should have been two wires labled. One would have been labeled "FAN" and the other "LIGHT". To properly attach the wires, (be sure the power is off) twist the thin labeled black (FAN) and blue (LIGHT) wires together. Now attach those two twisted wires to the black house wiring with one of the supplied wiring cap. Finally attach the thin white wire to the white house wire with supplied wiring cap. Your fan is now ready for operation. If you had performed all these steps when you first assembled the fan, then the thin black wire going to the fan has come loose. Should your ceiling fan still not run after all that, then it's time to return it where you bought it because either the pull chain switch is defective or the manufacturer produced a defective piece of merchandise. If you found any of my suggestions to be helpfull, please rate my solution. Thanks D. Lange

The motor is not stable-therefore it bounces around & doesnt work-I believe it was assembled wrong I need directions for putting together

Goto a hardware store and purchase a balance kit. Follow the directions in the kit to balance the blades. Also make sure all the blade screws are tight, all blades have all the washers on them and that the motor is securely mounted to a FAN box. Regular light boxes often cannot hold the weight of a ceiling fan. A fan box has braces on it that expand into the ceiling joists.

I can not remove the glass dome to change to bulb on my Minka Aire 3 blade ceiling fan. I believe the model number is UC7084T

Push up on the glass all around to loosen it (be careful not to break). You could also spray a little WD-40 around the top of the glass. If these don't work, you might have to break the glass. Call Minka Aire @ 1-800-307-3267 and let them know the problem and they might send a replacement at no-cost.

I have a wall outlet that turns the fan on and I turned it on and the lights are able to work on it but I can't get the blades to move

first, check to see if there is a pull chain or string on the fan motor to control the fan speed. this usually has 4 positions, off, low, medium & high speeds. someone may have turned the speed switch to off.
it done cost nothing but your time to look and you might suceed in turning on the fan motor.

I took the blades off my table fan to clean them and once i put the fan back together and turned the fan back own the blade spins and everything but no air is blowing out

I think that you may have put the blade on backwards. try taking the fan apart and reversing the blade around and reassembling the fan.

Remote control works the light on my Hunter ceiling fan but blades do not move

Can you hear the motor run even though the blades are not turning? If so, the manifold/flywheel may be bad and perhaps have broken away from the motor shaft.

The ceiling fan do not occilate the light turn on but the other does not work propperly

mcdevito75 here, Both the fan and lights work off the wall switch, for the fan to work there is also a pull chain close to the ceiling on the fan shroud you have to pull that chain to get the fan going and 1--2 more times for various speeds. If by chance the fan is brand new, reove the blades and check for stops in the fan motor, right where the blades hook up, these are in place from the factory and have to be removed for the fan to work, they pull right out.

The glass dome is tightened firmly in the factory, so removal is difficult. When removal is attempted to, the metal housing to which the dome is attached will spin with it, making removal impossible. To see what I'm talking about, look in the small space between the dome and the bottom of the blade housing - it looks like a metal flange, but this is only the bottom of the reflective metal canister that holds the light. Note that there are 4 "dimples" around the circumference of this housing, facing inward. These dimples are what hold the glass dome in place. The trick is to use a rigid piece of wood or metal about the size of a 12" ruler and place the corner of that ruler in one of those dimples - FIRMLY. Then, a second person can get some leverage on the glass dome and "unscrew" it from the housing (counter-clockwise). The purpose of holding the ruler-sized material against the dimple is to keep the housing from spinning with the dome. This is easier said than done, but it will work.

There's a rubber circle that is the damper between the blades and the motor shaft that rotates. The circle has spokes connecting the outer ring, which the blades screw into, to the inner ring which attaches to the shaft and holds it. If the spokes break you get the symptoms you describe, motor hums but no rotation, but blades can turn manually if you hand turn them them. If this is the case you need to remove and replace the blade mounting ring/damper. (About 25 bucks online)
