It would be great to see screen shot.
Which windows do you have ? Are you sure speakers work ?
Try checking mixer is it set to headphones instead of speakers ?
Try pluging in other speakers (headphones) to see if it works.

How d0 i get audio speakers to workj

Assuming the speakers are working, you can test them by plugging them into any other headphone jack, for example your cell phone. Check drivers & etc on computer make sure sound card installed correct. Also verify you are using the correct jack, there may be several for example microphone line in if you have a 5.1 stereo card they may also be ports for the rear speakers.

Hi,
Based on the information you have provided, it seems that the issue might be with the Audio Output Jack.
Usually some Computers have an additional Audio Jack on the CPU.
If you have such an option you can try connecting the Speakers and Headphone to that Audio Port and check.
If you do not have an additional Audio port, then it is confirmed that the issue is with Audio Output Port.
It is recommended to replace the Sound Card. You can also check with your favorite Computer Retailer, if only the Audio Output Port can be replaced.
Please let me know if you have further questions or need any assistance.

I have no sound from my speakers. Window shows no audio device.

Hello...
Full details about sound issue in my website...
www.sureshayyar.110mb.com (Support page)

As an alternative u can do this (i am using this solution till date)

If u cant install the sound driver correctly, just buy a " USB Sound Adaptor" and connect it to the USB port and connect the speaker sound jack to the sound port in this adaptor....u will get back the sound....also keep in mind that u " may " have to disable onboard sound in BIOS, u may also have to make changes in the Control Panel / Sound and Audio Devices / Audio Tab / Sound Playback option... Click the drop down button and select the "USB Audio Devices/Headset"

You can get it in Ebay for $1 to $4 or google it to locate a place near u......

This is the one i am refering to(I bought it in Ebay for 1$)....u can buy something similar also....there are many available mfd from China, just plug and play on your USB port....

If you find this solution useful please leave a feedback and rating to this solution.

Regards....
All the best, my dear friend.... 71f8da1.jpg

I have sound if I plug in headphones (USB port) but nothing from speakers.

usb port?!?

is this not getting plugged into the audio out? 3.5mm jack?

if your plugging headphones into USB port -not a 3.5mm audio jack they have there own sound card (technically)

and your sound card in the computer might not even be working

Can't get surround sound for tv shows

The coby dvd 988 has 2 rca audio input jacks, you need to have these connected to your TV AUDIO OUT jacks, these are usually colored red and white like right and left stereo jacks, be sure to set up the TV for AUDIO output through these connections, some tv`s require that the internal built in speakers are cancelled and the audio output jacks are enabled. Set the coby input signal to receive the port you pluged the tv signal into.

Matsui tvr 180T Tv set shows pictures but no sound

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Offhand a couple of possibilities:
  • audio settings of the TV (mute, SAP) (most likely);
  • audio amplifier is defective (likely);
  • sound processor is faulty (least likely);
  • speakers defective (unlikely for both at the same time).
Try plugging an external amplifier with speaker to the audio out ports if the Matsui TVR180T model has audio out jacks.

Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy New Year.

Dell Inspiron 6000 PC Audio Ports Damaged

You should have sound from the speakers at all times until headphones are plugged into the jack, the jack then overrides the speakers and allows you to listen using the headphones. If the speakers aren't working, it's because they're being overridden by the damaged jack. The only way to correct this is to replace the faulty jacks. You could get a set of external speakers, the con is they're bulky and inconvenient.

Speakers

may be you have not installed the audio drivers.... if not then so install it & then try it will work..
if it is installed then check whether the audio cable from speakers to the cpu is correctly connected to audio jack in the cpu..(u must connect to green audio port)
check whether the power supply of the speakers is given r not...
check whether the power button of the speaker is on ....

if the same problem persists then there may be miscontact inside the speaker (if the speaker is showing green light when it is on means then there is no power supply cable problem else there may be power supply cable problem try changing it )
else
may be the capacitor inside the speaker is gone
if the problem persists then
take the speakers to technician ....
