Question about Logitech (980240-0403) Microphone

Open Question

I have bought a logitec premium notebook headset and have sound issues. 1.) When I move my head during recording the cord seems to touch my neck and this couses background noice.(ok, easy fix, just don't move my head, but a bit strange) 2.) the recording sounds a bit thin and the major problem is the every s-sound almost hurts when listening to it.Especially when listening to the recording with the headset. I have windows vista with latest windows updates and configurred the options to use highest recording quality. I use Camtasia Studio 6 to record and tried also different options but I still have the ssss sound. Anybody can help? much appreciated...

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: Microphone

I believe it is an issue with DirectX. If you don't already have it, install the utility to test your audio. Usually this problem is caused by a configuration problem somewhere, not hardware. My guess is that your initial problem caused the settings to become corrupted in some fashion.

as a workaround you can use the headset, you just need to configure your messenger again to use the sound from the mic input instead from the webcam.

I hear my own voice when I talk on Logitecs H600 wireless headset

IF you are in Windows 7: -
1. Click "Control Panel" > "Sound" > "Recording"
2. Place cursor over "Microphone - Logitech Wireless Headset Default Device".
3. Right Click and select "Properties"
4. Click the "Listen" Tab
5. Uncheck the "Listen to this device"
6. Click "Apply",. and "OK"
That will eliminate you hearing any nose picked up by the microphone. Others will still be able to hear your voice as long as you have the headset as your default microphone.

Sound and Recording jacks stop working on the DV6000 series due to the ribbon cable running under the power button. when the power button is pushed it bends the flex cable and over time it breaks the connection rendering the front jacks useless you can buy a new upper button panel for about 20 dollars on ebay

Microphone doesn't work with small plug

I'm just taking a stab in the dark here but bare with me on this, I got a lot of info stored in this old head so it takes a while.

If you look at the jack for the microphone, Does it have 2 sleaves and a pin or just 1 sleave and a pin. If it has 2 then you will need an adaptor (Normaly Stereo jack to XLR). If it has 1 sleave then your going to need a preamp.

Hopefully this will work

Can i use lifechat zx-6000 to play and listen to music played by GOM player?

Yea, you can, you need to co to control panel and under sounds set the 360 head set control which will be your microsoft wireless control to default....but the sound is crapy..it seems that the manufacturers never designed this device for that kinda sound, only those who are talking to you with another mic...so i suggest sticking with your speakers or a good set of ear phones

Logitech webcam with built-in microphone and notebook premium headset

dear fixya,

greetings.

thank you for your e-mail. however, i decided not to use the headset anymore since my webcam has already built-in microphone. i think eventhough i will use the headset, the problem regarding the noise during conversation will not go away. i think think is really the part of on-line chatting.

thank you and more power to fixya team.

sincerely,

babesky
