Question about Samsung CLX3185 AllInOne Laser Printer

1 Answer

I have removed the 4 screws, moved the black cylinder on the top left to the right. The unit comes totally free on the right and loose on the left but still appears to be attached and will not let the unit be removed. Am I missing a trick here.

Im getting a error E52

Error E52 is a Laser Motor Unit Fault. You can buy a new laser motor unit or try to fix it yourself.

Step-by-step instruction:

1 - Remove gently the top cover of the printer ( 4 screws - 2 on top/front + 2 in back/side). [Front screws are revealed by pulling open the front cover.]
2 - Be careful with the connectors going to the top LCD panel. You might want to disconnect the shorter one. [Do disconnect the shorter one.]
3 - Remove the laser unit located on top of the printer covered by a steel plate.

To do that:
1 - Unplug (pull) the white flat connector going to the left side of the laser unit.
2 - Unscrew the 3 screws keeping the laser unit in place.
3 - The lower/right screw also maintains in place the second connector going to the unit. Remove it and unplug (pull) the connector.
4 - Squeeze out the laser unit from under the wires (going back and up).
[If there is a wired cable that goes tightly over the unit, unscrew one screw holding the small circuit board in place.]

You now have the laser unit outside of the printer.
1 - Remove the steel plate of the laser unit. There is a plastic shutter that will come loose. Don't loose it and take note of its location in case you need to put it back.
2 - Unscrew the 4 screws maintaining the motor section and remove it. [This is not necessary. Leave the board in place.]
3 - There is a small piece of black plastic that maintains the top part of the motor unit (with the mirrors) on the left side of the board. Twist it and remove it. [Twist it 90 degrees is sufficient; no need to remove it.]
4 - Pull up the mirror part.
5 - Be careful during all that not to touch any of the mirrors or prism or whatever seems to conduct light. If you do, you can always clean with isopropyl alcohol or glasses solution. [Since you have to touch the mirror to lift it, I just cleaned it routinely with an alcohol prep pad after I replaced it.]
6 - Put some sewing machine oil on the shaft.
7 - Put everything back together.

Error Code E52 Brother HL1650

In fact the noise/E52 service problem might be easy to fix:
You just have to oil the mirror motor shaft in the laser unit.

Step-by-step instruction:

1 – Remove gently the top cover of the printer ( 4 screws – 2 on top/front + 2 in back/side).
2 – Be careful with the connectors going to the top LCD panel. You might want to disconnect the shorter one.
3 – Remove the laser unit located on top of the printer covered by a steel plate.

To do that:
1 – Unplug (pull) the white flat connector going to the left side of the laser unit.
2 – Unscrew the 3 screws keeping the laser unit in place.
3 – The lower/right screw also maintains in place the second connector going to the unit. Remove it and unplug (pull) the connector.
4 – Squeeze out the laser unit from under the wires (going back and up).

You now have the laser unit outside of the printer.
1 - Remove the steel plate of the laser unit. There is a plastic shutter that will come loose. Don’t loose it and take note of its location in case you need to put it back.
2 – Unscrew the 4 screws maintaining the motor section and remove it.
3 – There is a small piece of black plastic that maintains the top part of the motor unit (with the mirrors) on the left side of the board. Twist it and remove it.
4 – Pull up the mirror part.
5 – Be careful during all that not to touch any of the mirrors or prism or whatever seems to conduct light. If you do, you can always clean with isopropyl alcohol or glasses solution.
6 – Put some sewing machine oil on the shaft. Juuuust a little. I used machine oil SAE 20 or 40 (not sure – I didn’t look). WD40 would probably work also. Again, not too much – wipe the excess.
7 – Put everything back together.

How to replace bulbs for ac/ heater control unit

1. Remove the dash around radio (just clips)
2. Remove 2 screws pointing up . (You do not need to remove screws which are parallel to the floor)
3. Remove screw pointing up on the bottom of the dashboard on left side of the driver (near left leg).
4. Remove 2 screws pointing up in the instrument cluster area.
5. Put car in 1st gear and gently remove black plastic surrounding instruments (it will have ait vents, so slide it carefully out not to damage foam insulation on air ducts; start on the bottom hear steering column) ; unplug connectors to clock and emergency flashers.
6. Remove 2 screws, now exposed, near instrument area, holding dashboard. (that was what I spent most time on, I didn't know about this screws.
7. Now gently remove (or move up) dashboard (around instrument cluster and heating controls.) Start next to ignition (careful not to damage the bulb next to the ignition.
Since you only need to get to the heating controls block, I only move up the dashboard next to it.
8. Remove 2 screws that hold the heating control and slide heating control out . This step is unnecessary If you totally removed the dashboard.
9. Pull out lever controls for fan speed, zone and temp
10. Use the screwdriver (flat) to pry 2 plastic tabs on top and on the bottom of heating control so black cover can be remover.
11. You did it! two bulbs are going to be under the cover.

Clear carriage jam

Here is what I did and it fixed it.

1) Open door so print heads move to the center
2) Unplug the unit. (Don't turn off, just unplug!)
3) Open back door
4) Look inside the back left side for a small black gear (About the size of a quarter)
5) Spin the gear with a screw driver (I'm pretty sure I spun it clockwise). Spin it and watch the inside of the printer where the print heads park. You should see a tray move out that has four rubber blue rectangles on it on the right side of the unit (this is where the print heads park when the unit is not printing).
6) Keep spinning the gear until the plate moves all the way forward.
7) Grab the plate and try moving it forward more.
8) Put the back on and close the top.
9) Turn the unit back on.
10) Open the top again
11) Unplug the unit again. (Don't turn off, just unplug!)
12) Grab the tray, from step 5, and slide it all the way forward and all the way back multiple times.
13) Make sure that the print heads slide left to right smoothly
14) Remove ink cart's and clean the contacts with bottled water and a q-tip. LET DRY BEFORE REINSTALLING!!!
15) Remove print heads and clean contacts with bottled water and q-tip. LET DRY BEFORE REINSTALLING!!!
16) Clean the inside of the printer with a soft dry cloth, use a slightly damp, with bottled water, lint free cloth (Glasses cleaning cloth works well) and wipe off the rollers in the front and back of the unit. See HP's cruddy support site for details on this step.
17) Hold down #7 (reprimes the printheads with ink) and plug in the unit

If needed also turn off and do a #6 to reset the unit.

Do all the above at your own risk! It worked for me but might not work for you.

Good luck,

Taran

2430 dl paper alot of paper stuck

Hello

best way to check FU is take it out from printer,
first remove backside and left side cover, in backside there is a 4 small wires with 2 pin connectors you have to unplug connector, in left side there is a bigger withe and black wires, you have to unplug connectors. then open cover and remove *PC drum, also remove transferbelt, first remove 2 screws, 1 screw at each side, then unplug connector upper right and lift and remove transfer belt.
BE VERY CEARFUL WHEN OPERATING WITH TRANSFERBELT. DO NOT DAMAGE THE BELT.

then you cand remove 2 screws at each side of fusing unit, when moving the whole FU to right /maybe left, dont remember/ you can bull out the fusing unit. its a little tricky to take it out.
when you got the FU in your hands, you can inspect it, remove any paper, stuck. AGAIN, BE VERY CEARFUL, DO NOT DAMAGE THE RED ROLLER AND DO NOT USE ANY SHARP THINGS.
when needed you can also remove a few screws at the fusing unit and then you can take the fu a part to see whats wrong.

good luck.
