The brush bar on my v6 cordless is not working The bar that it goes on is it moving

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.

There are a number of reasons why your brush roller has stopped moving. General maintenance to your vacuum is crucial and will help it work at peak performance.

First things first lets focus on the brush roller. Unplug the vacuum and turn it on its side. Look for any noticeable clumps of debris or hair strands that may be caught in the brush roller. Remove these obstructions, probably best to do so with a scissor if it's hair or long pieces of carpet fibers. After removing the debris try manually rotating the brush roller to uncover other hidden clogs. Another thing to take note of is the condition of the bristles on the roll itself. Are they loose or worn down? These are signs that your brush roller is in need of replacing.

While checking out your brush roll you might as well take a look at your vacuums belt. Your belt should be replaced about every three months. After regular usage, the belt will stretch out, lessening the tension on the brush roller. Lesser tension diminishes the brush roller's turn rate and speed. If the belt feels loose then it certainly is affecting your vacuums suction as well as your brush roll not moving at all.

ERROR CODE MC COMM ERROR, MC COMM TIMEOUT

The out-feed Rollers will move all the way towards the machine to start. There's a stainless static bar with bristles on it right after that. If you have that upside down it stops the roller bar from getting to it's home position. This causes that alarm. To test remove static bar and hit "C" to reset. It should clear. You may have to push the roller bar in manually. If you remove the front plastic cover there are two gears on the right. One on top has a strip of metal that goes between a c shaped proximity switch. If that Roller bar is restricted it won't go into the proximity switch.

What do the numbers on the Kirby G5 beater bar end caps mean?

The numbers on the beater bar end caps are used to lower the brush down as the bristles wear down. When you bought the machine, the brush roller started in the 1 setting. One year later, after the bristles have worn down, you can move the numbers to 2, then 3, etc.

It's a pretty neat concept by Kirby, it prolongs the life of the roller brush significantly.

Hope this helped you,

'move fric.lever' message. Kindly please explain. Thanks

It is telling you to move the friction lever.
The friction bar holds the paper against the platen roller, it must be in the closed position to advance the paper.

The lever should be to one side of the roller.

Does not move on carpet. The roller bar is

Remove the roller from the head and check the end bearings for binding (note how the belt is attached). Remove all of the wound up thread, hair, and string from the entire roller. Clean the bearings and lightly oil with 3in1 or similar. Check the belt for worn or burned areas (replace if so). Belt should be tight when reassembled. Clean the air passages of any potential clogs. Make sure all of the wheels turn freely--if any problems, remove the same debris from the bearings and lightly oil. Wipe away any excess oil. Hope this helps.
