GE profile dishwasher drains real slow---have always had this problem---leave tub bottom with 1/2 inch of water in it. Have cleaned all the lines etc--food out of the traps

From your description, it sounds like there is an obstruction in the plumbing.

Many dishwashers are installed near the kitchen sink, the drain may be connected to the garbage disposal outlet. These can easily get clogged.

If you see a connection under the sink which appears to come from the area of the dishwasher, this is likely the case. If you get that cleared out it should solve your problem, and prevent other problems in the future.

Good luck!

My GE Profile doesn"t drain completly, leaving about 2" of water.

Sounds like a water level sensor is on the fritz. The drain valve is probably opening if the level drops at all.

My dishwasher does not completely drain. It leaves about 3 inches of standing water. What could be causing this?

Without knowing the model of this GE ? dishwasher, it is very hard to be specific. Most DWs have a float/switch that sense when the dishwasher is filled and empty of water. They can fail.
If you can run a cycle without the dishwasher over flowing but it simply does not fully drain, I would pull the lower spray arm and the filter beneath that arm. Look closely for debris that could be blocking the pump. SOme dishwashers simply have a timer that controls each phase of the wash, including the drain cycle. If something is blocking the drain pump, an obstruction could cause this problem.
Good Luck, Please report back with what you find.

LEAVE MORE WATER THAN SHOULD BE

There is a drain hose that runs from your dishwasher to underneath your sink. (usually connects in right below the drain spout)

It sounds like this may have become clogged, or the sink drain is clogged causing the water to back-up in to the dishwasher drain hose.

GE Profile PDW7300, Leaves 2 - 3 inches of dirty water in bottom

check for a clogged discharge hose where it connects to the plumbing under the sink...this is the most common area for a clog. if no restriction is found, the discharge valve will need to be tested

Following a cycle, a small pool of clean water inside the tub is typical. Excessive water means the pump isn't pumping water out properly, the drain hose isn't carrying it to the drain pipe, or the house's drain lines are backed up. If dirty water spews from the air gap, the drain line is kinked or clogged. Note: If you've recently installed a garbage disposer, be sure the knockout plug for the dishwasher was removed when the connection was made (see your disposer instructions).
