Question about Yamaha Inverter Ef2000is 2000 Watt Generator

1 Answer

Ef2000is not putting out the AC voltage it should. We have two of them and one will not pull some things the other will. We run it hard one weekend doing some carpenter work and now the ac overload light will come on when we run a few things on it that it would run before. I did some test on it and the sub coil is reading 550 volts. Nothing in shop manuel for this. It talks about it needing to be somewhere inbetween 260 to 390 volts at subcoil. Anything less and you need to replace rotor. Nothing in it for more. Help

Hi, Raimo and the usual suspects are:
1. Idle circuit and transfer ports clogged.
2. Air fuel mixture adjustment too lean.
3. Pilot jet clogged.
4. Faulty accelerator pump.
5. Float level too low.
6. Float bowl contaminated old fuel, water, dirt, rust, etc.
7. Float bowl vent or overflow tube clogged.
8. Fuel flow to carburetor restricted.
9. Intake manifold leak.
10. The gas cap is not venting properly or fuel tank venting system blocked.
11. Vacuum line from intake manifold to petcock broken, cracked, or not attached, carburetor vent line plugged.
12. Needle and seat stuck closed in the float bowl.
13. Multi carburetors not in sync.

Duo therm mod. 57915 air conditioner seems to work good , runs for 4-5 minutes then kicks breaker , was kicking 30 amp breaker at camp ground , i've been working on connections to make sure its...

Unit may pull as much as 17-18amps when compressor starts up, but level out to 12-15 amps when up and running. Keeping in mind that is all relative to proper 120v incoming voltage, heavy enough wire to run the application etc. If your AC unit needs cleaning , it may draw an extra amp or 2 . With that said, when your at the park, first thing I'd question is their incoming voltage to RV, and try running fridge etc and anything else on propane if possible. The AC alone should not cause 30amp at source breaker to trip, before 15 0r 20 amp breaker in RV that is connected to AC trips. If it doesn't trip your breaker at home, and all is connected same at park, then I certainly would suspect bad breaker or voltage/wiring at park is the cause. P.S. I noticed you said you have 12 gauge wire (rated at 20 amps) connected to a 20amp breaker at panel, but RV is plugged in to a 15amp receptacle, I will assume with a 15 amp adapter from 30 amp plug. Do you see any hazard regarding 15 amp rating on receptacle? ( just a little advice.)

My 2 Yamaha ef2000is generators will only run anything in my camper that requires power (ac,tv, or microwave) unless the choke is on about a 1/4 of the way.

dirty carby jets. it is not receiving enough fuel thereby needing the choke. remove carby and clean jets thoroughly or simply try removing air filter & squirting carby cleaner into carby throat whilst revving engine several times, this sometimes works enough to solve problem.

I have a 1996 f3.. we replaced the voltage regulator last year and got a new battery at the same time. this year i take it out and things are good for the first 800 miles i rode. now i can charge the...

look for 3 wires coming from the stator to the regulator, the same color, these should be the 3 phases of the stator and any pair of these should put out maybee 50v AC, with the bike running.
Also each pair of these should have similar resistance(engine stopped)and none grounded to earth
Then put the volt meter across the battery, it should read somwhere around 14 v DC with the engine running.

No AC -stator problem
Yes AC, No DC- regulator problem
Voltages can vary between makes and models, but hopefully this is the simple explanation

Fan Rons Furnaces run Heat pump or AC will not run

I would check to see the contactor is functioning. The contactor is the big switch looking thing in the middle. The power hooks to this. First check to see if it pulls when inside is calling for air. If it does not than check to see that there is 24V going to the coil of the contactor. The 24V wiring will be connected to the sides of the contactor. Some contactors have the two wires on one side (this is usually on a Rheem) If the contactor is pulling in check and see that you have at least 220V running through it. I suspect that one side of the contactor is burned or has ants or some thing in it. Remember you are dealing with high voltage and take appropriate precautions. The capacitor can hold electricity in it even if power to unit is shut off.

WD 750 My Book: Get get it to stay running or get recognized

Hello,

There are a few reasons this can happen but all relate to the voltage from you AC adapter not getting to the drive as speced. Hard drives will run through continuos reset cycles whenever they fail to recieve proper voltage. One of three things is happening, Your AC adapter is putting out the wrong voltage(can test with a multimeter), one of the voltage regulators on the My Book Circuit board has failed, can be remedied by moving the drive to a new enclosure. Or finally, one of the circuits on the hard drive controller board has failed, this would require the help of a pro.

If you have access to a multimeter, read the voltage statement on the bottom of the AC adapter and test the voltage. If it's well outside of the listed voltage let me know, and state the listed voltage and I will help you source a replacement on eBay.

If the Voltage is good, take the My Book to your local PC shop and have the technicians there move your harddrive to a new enclosure for testing. If it works in the new enclosure, buy it and be on your way.

If the voltage is good and the new enclosure fails to produce results reply back with your location(Country, State and City) and I'll be happy to refer you to a nearby facility that can help recover your files.

Hope this helps FixYa,

Chris

your voltage/reg. can be tested in a couple different ways check ground res. check res. then revs. bias on diodes you have ac in dc out it sounds like you may have a diode gone bad allowing ac curent to flow causing the wires to get hot
