Generac XP8000E how do you replace the battery charger fuse 1.5 all I can find out is you have to remove the control panel. No manual and can't find any info

Roger,

1st check the voltage going into the Battery Charging Rectifier from the alternator. You should get between 12 Volts DC to 16 Volt DC with the engine running.

If you get these results next check the battery. You should get max 13v dc going to the battery. If your battery is not charging on this unit or gets under 12x dc, you need to replace the battery charging rectifier.

If you need other parts you can find them on this page.

It shuts down it acts like it is not charging bttery is 12.75. When i put the head lights on it goes down to 12.17

Hello paulschwalm: My name is Roger and I will help you. If your jeep is only charging 12.75 volts? You should be charging more. 12.5 is bear minimum voltage. Will not sustain lights and heater operations.Anything less than 12.5 volts the computer will start shutting down components to protect the battery and the memory of the computer. I would have the alternator tested as it should produce 13.0 to 14.5 volts Should you need further help please just ask. Please rate the answer. Thank You for using and trusting Fix Ya.Roger

Freon for the back

Hello tbirch6: My name is Roger and I will try to help you. Your question is not real clear. If you want to know what kind of freon to use? The freon is the same as the front system. Both the front and rear a/c systems are the same. There is not a separate system for each. If you fill one you filled both. The total amount of freon for both units is 54 ounces or 3lb.4 oz. The best way to recharge the system is to start from scratch with a vacuum on the system and a complete recharge of the system. There is noway of knowing how much of a charge is in the system otherwise. Most shops can preform this task at a reasonable charge. Please do not just vent the freon into the atmosphere as it depletes the Ozone layer. Should you need further help please just ask. Thank You for using Fix Ya. Roger

Car died, starts when jump it and dies again soon as charge drain

Hello dpkommineni: My name is Roger and I will answer your question. The problem you described is that of a car not charging the battery. You need to have the charging system tested. The alternator should charge between 13.5 to 14.5 volts. Anything less then 12.5 the battery will go dead. Since the weather is hot any use of the head lamp and A/C the battery would die fairly fast. I would also have the battery tested. Should the battery have a open cell then it would not take a charge from the alternator.
Should you need further help please just ask. Please rate the answer as this way we can tell you received helpful information. Thank You for using Fix Ya. Roger
