There is a line down the center of the screen

whether the line-shaped vertical or horizontal? if it appears a horizontal line on your side, it signifies the vertical rays do not exit the screen or your TV vertical part is not working. damage can be caused by IC Vertical, or in the vertical deflection coil yoke.dan if a line that appears is from top to bottom that indicates the horizontal section is not working, usually there is a problem of the deflection yoke is not connected or defective.

How do you fix a white horizontal line across top of Orion TV?

Hello eatkinson,

This denotes a problem with the vertical deflection circuit. This is more then likely the result of the vertical coupling capacitor failing. You will need the schematic diagram of the TV to find the capacitor in question. it is located between the vertical output stage and the vertical deflection winding of the yoke transformer. In addition check the continuity of the vertical winding of the yoke transformer this can cause the same problem. In any event the problem is that the vertical deflection signal is not getting to the yoke transformer or the yoke transformer is malfunctioning.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,

No pitcure display only horizontal line appears

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

The horizontal line indicates failure in the vertical section. Almost always, this would be a faulty vertical IC. In some instances, it can be or may include the diode, limiting resistor and filter capacitor coming from the FBT providing the Vertical B+ ~ 28VDC. You would need a DVM/VOM to check for the presence/absence of voltage.

Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

A horizontal or vertical red line appears on picture.

Red lines are caused by glare. Avoid photographing shiny surfaces that reflect excessive amounts of light into your lens.
