Question about Vacuums

Bisselll Proheat pump

My Bissell has stopped spraying. I have taken it apart and eliminated most problem areas. The heater is not clogged, the solenoid opens when trigger is pulled yet the pump does not spin, Air can be blown through all hoses and fittings, Pump will spin when connected to a external 12VDC power source. I have narrowed it down to the Bridge Rectifier but dont know how to test this componet or even how it works. Any help would be great

If you can remove the rectifier, take it to an electronic shop where they can test it for you. They'll likely do it for free. Also, make sure ALL electrical connection to the pump and other related electrical devices are clean and un-broken.

Bissell Proheat only sprays for a few seconds.

When was the last time you changed the flat belt? Even if it isn't broken it could be so stretched out that when the brush hits the floor it slows or stops the pump from spraying. If its a new belt then and your sure there arent any clog's that usually means the pump is bad. Also if youve ever used anything other than bissell shampoo in the machine it could have ruined the pump as well.

I have a Bissell powersteamer proheat. The problem is that the unit will no longer spray water/cleaner out of the bottom of the unit.

Check to see if water will squirt out of the hose, if it does, then take the handle apart, the heater may be clogged. Once you get to the heater, take off the 2 water lines, dig out the clog, try to blow thru the heater to make sure it is open, then put back together. Otherwise it could be the belt, pump, seal not in place on the bottom of the tank or a clogged water line.
