Question about HP LaserJet 8150 Printer
HP 8150 Laser Printer Paper Tray 4 no power Hi there I have a tray 4 for the HP Lazerjet 8150N I do not have it connected up to a network. I just got it at home with one computer. I have the power cable plugged in. I have the other small cable in the two correct slots. The label on the lead say its a Hewlet Packard 00/15 C4781-70002 When i plug everything in nothing workers on tray 4 - ie no lights come on or noises happen. I have made sure the small grey cable is in the right slots. I have also checked the power cable and it works. The printer is working fine ie the HP8150 using tray 2 and 3. Is there an on/off switch for tray 4 that i cannot see? Thanks for any help given.

I have had this same problem trying to print DVD lable sheets.
I spent hours trying to work it out, HP support said it was the software(hmmm)
The answer to the problem is, the printer senses the printed block colour band on the preprinted lable sheet. I am using Fellowes - Neato DVD tempate sheets which have a black, block of colour on the leading edge, I'm not sure about Avery.
I found the quick fix is, turn the sheet around end for end against the manufacturers instructions. The opposite end is plain and goes through OK. You may have to calibrate the software to compensate if the printing starts in a different position this end, my sheets are the same within about 1mm.
You could also cut the block colour off the sheet if the direction was critical, and make allowance for the starting position.
I find the printer is good apart from this problem.
I hope this helps, it worked for me.

SOURCE: My HP LaserJet 4200 prints fine from tray 2, but will NOT print envelopes from tray 1. It WILL print on regular paper from tray 1, but will not print envelopes. What gives? I've already rebooted the
Are there settings on the control panel of your printer?
Is the tray 1 the MP tray? (The one that flips towards you)
If so, can you change the settings of the Tray 1 to Envelope on the control panel?
I hope this helps.

Browse through the menu's of the printer
Paper Handling Menu, Set
Tray 1: Any size / Any Type.
Tray 2: A4 Size / Plain Type.
This should solve the issue

check the paper type and the paper size from the printer menu, if it is ok then you will try to check the paper sensor on tray 2
