Question about Computers & Internet
Have you tried going to device manager in the control panel find your wireless adapter driver and click on update driver? hopefully this will then find a driver update if not you could try the manufacturers web site for the latest driver.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

have a look at the book that came with the wireless router and see what is the ip address. it should be 188.8.131.52. type this into your home pc internet explorer address bar. you should get the router settings page. then go to the wireless setup page and you will find the wep key there

Have you tried setting the wireless adapter settings to the default? Have you tried uninstalling the wireless adapter and re-installing it? Do you have a home network setup with an encryption key?

Unfortunately, the Toshiba Satelite A135-S2246 was never designed to run XP, only Vista. Which is why you can't find any drivers for XP. The nearest you can get is to find a laptop running XP SP2 that is using the same LAN (ethernet controller) and WLAN (wireless ethernet controller), and see if they will work.
Here are the drivers I found for XP (please check which one's you are trying to install):
Atheros WiFi card driver:
Intel WiFi card driver:
You will need to search for the card that you have.
LAN (ethernet controller):
You can pick third or fourth from top depending on your preference.
Please remember that Toshiba, Microsoft, Atheros, Realtek, Intel and especially myself accept no responsibilty for what may, or may not happen when installing drivers not specifically designed for your system. All that said, I hope it works for you.
