If your printer is connected in the Network and you are able to print fine than there is no communication Error.
In htan case if you are not able to scan then you need to upgrade the firmware of the printer and install it and i m sure your printer wiill scan scanning on the Network.
Mentioned below is the link to download the latest firmware of the printer.
However before you start sending firmware to the printer you need to make sure that printer driver is installed on the PC.

little bit I under stood your language, there is scanner error 22, remove flat bed glass, remove scan head, check mechanism observe any breakage, replace it mechanism, if no replace entire scanner head..see the test shot.

I have that oranage triangle light blinking as warm up message continues I also had power loss I have taken the plug out and will wait a while and try again. I still get now scanner errors using ubuntu..

If you go to H.P's website and go to support imput that you need drivers for your laserjet m1005 mfp. and you will either be able to down load it right away or they will send you an e-mail with it or a link to retrieve one..Good Luck
