Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
In most cases, green or pink glitches in the display are caused by an overheating graphics chip. dust is the most common cause of this overheating. if there's no more warranty on the PS3 or you don't care about warranty, you can try opening the device and remove as much dust and what not, preferably with an airduster or a dry anti-static cloth. if the dust is stuck to the electronics, you can try by putting something like methyl-alcohol on the cloth and trying again. try to avoid touching of electronic contacts.
If this doesn't work, it may mean that the motherboard is damaged (for instance, a blown resistor/capacitor) and in this case, it's cheaper to replace the whole playstation instead of trying to repair.
