How to disable smart drive if there is no option, pls help

I do not recommend disabling SMART. SMART monitors your Hard drive for any impending failures and alerts you in advance if it detects anything abnormal with the drive. I strongly recommend you keep SMART enabled.

If you still want to disable it, please visit http://sourceforge.net/projects/smartmontools/ to download SmartMonTools.

    Try this command set "smartctl -- smart=off -- saveauto=on /dev/hdX"

Where "X" is the HDD you want to de-S.M.A.R.T.

hda is the first drive detected, hdb the second, and so on. You can fish for it.

Error 1203 on a Dell Printer - what is this?

2080 1203 2055...Critical / Failure / Error...2080 1203 2346The Storage Management Service performs alert monitoring and logging. By default, the Storage Management Service starts when the managed system starts up. If you stop the Storage Management Service, then alert monitoring and logging stops. Alert monitoring does the following:
    • Updates the status of the storage object that generated the alert.

    • Propagates the storage object's status to all the related higher objects in the storage hierarchy. For example, the status of a lower-level object will be propagated up to the status displayed on the Health tab for the top-level Storage object.

    • Logs an alert in the Alert log and the operating system (OS) application log.

    • Sends an SNMP trap if the operating system's SNMP service is installed and enabled.

    Hard drive not being found

1 . Shut down the computer. Unplug all cables and peripheral devices.

2 . Remove the computer's side panel. (Cases vary. Some will require a small Phillips screwdriver for removal and others feature screw less designs. Please see your case manual if you are unsure.)

3 . Locate the newly installed hard drive. Check that two cables are running from the hard drive to the motherboard and to the power supply. If you see only one cable or if either of the cables are not securely seated, plug in the appropriate connector(s).

    4 .
Leave the case's side panel off for now. Reconnect the power cable, monitor cable, and keyboard and mouse connections.

5 . Restart the computer. Enter your BIOS immediately. (Your BIOS usually alerts you to the key required to adjust settings. If your screen does not show this information or if you are unsure, consult your motherboard manual.)

6 . If it is an IDE hard drive, enter the IDE settings. The BIOS should show the hard drive. Configure it as primary or secondary, according to your computer's configuration. (If you have only one drive, set this to primary. Otherwise, set as secondary.)

7 . Save your settings, and exit the BIOS. Once you are certain that the the PC is recognizing the hard drive, replace the side panel.

    Thanks.

Under Programs in the My Toshiba folder there is a Toshiba Application Installer. Open(click) that and then re-install the HDD/SDD Alert Monitor. My Toshiba did the same thing and that's how I fixed it.

    Bounceback error 0003

    Hi,

This error is due to the settings in your firewall . Please check the windows firewall settings as mentioned bellow:

. Click Start and then click Control Panel.
    2. Double-click Security Center. (You can also access the Security Center by clicking on an alert sent by the Security Center. For example, if you receive an alert telling you that your antivirus software is out of date, when you click that alert, the Security Center will open.)
    3. In the Security Center, under Firewall, click Recommendations. (The Recommendations button is not available when your Firewall setting is marked ON.)
    4. In the Recommendations dialog box, select the I have a firewall solution that I'll monitor myself check box, and then click OK.

Let us know if your have any doubts.

    Thanks

No video on my Gateway fpd2275w Monitor

First things first a quick check list:
1 Make sure monitor plugged in.
2 Turn on monitor. If there are words and instructions displayed then there is power in monitor. Green light for power next to buttons, etc. If there is no warnings or alerts on the screen. Then we have a power issue to the monitor. Or your back light has gone out preventing you from seeing welcome screen alerts etc.
    3. If there is welcome screen alerts etc. then check your plug to the PC. If its connected, then your settings on your PC for the monitor are not configured. If you have two of the same plugs on your computer for the monitor. switch them and roobot. Let me knows how this worked out. Thanks.

    Screen on desktop shows blue

Many monitors will produce a blue screen when they are receiving no input signal but most will give you some kind of alert on the screen to let you know the monitor is not at fault.
Try disconnecting the video cable from your system to see if the screen changes at all.

Also, restart your system and watch the drive lights on the system front panel to see if it is even booting; it may not be.
If it isn't, then the monitor is probably not the problem.

If the system seems to be trying to start, you could have a bad video card or monitor and the only way to reliably for you to identify which has failed is by substitution; borrow a monitor from a friend and try yours with their system.
If the exchange shows your monitor to be working with their system but not with yours and their monitor displays no video on your system, then (if your system seems to be starting up) the video card or on-board video chip has failed.

    Webroot spysweeper won't sweep

Webroot has a main page where one of the tabs across the the top is 'Shields' Click on that tab and set all shields on except the e-mail one. That one makes a mess on Outlook Express. I also dropped back a few versions since the latest one kept yakking about a shortage of drive space when there was no problem. As to alerts the program will give an ' Alert' when it thinks that a sweep is overdue. I just click on 'sweep later' and minimize the alert. There are also some good anti spyware 'freebies such as AVG and SpyBot Search and destroy
