Dell 2350 Wireless router so slow!!

I've been using the Dell router for about 2 1/2 years without any problem. The past few days connecting to the internet has been extremely slow. When I reset the router it speeds up for several minutes then returns to a crawl. I've tested both my computers by connecting each directly to my cable modem and the internet is working properly. I've run all my virus scans and the computers are running correctly. How can I test the router or is it time for a new one? Thanks!

Re: Dell 2350 Wireless router so slow!!

Hey how y'all doing..
I'm also a Dell 2350 user for quite a long time. About 3 years, and yes, I'm also experiencing very slow speed all of a sudden. The funny part is that I sit close to the base, and it's still slow. Sometimes it's 54, then all of a sudden 11, 18, 24. I don't get it. My internet works perfect. I thought maybe I should change internet security suite, but nothing...
I've tried updating firmware, but Dell kinda sold me this, and I think after a few years they stopped updating firmwares for everything :S

Well before throwing it out try updating the firmware. That might help a little.

Hey ! I've got a DELL Wireless 2350 Broadband Router and it's working just fine. Recently I purchased a wireless printer (Samsung ML-1856W). I get the printer to work via the network if I...

My first thought would be to try different forms of encryption on your router. It's possible that your printer may not support the type of encryption you're trying to use which may be causing it to have trouble connecting. For example, if you're using WPA encryption, try switching to a WEP key instead. You can change all of these settings from your Wireless Router's configuration page.

Wireless connection drops

What you need to do with this problem is to have the router "dell wireless 2350" is to update the firmware or software of this router. You may contact Dell support to ask for the firmware or go to and look for the model number of your router and download the firmware of the said router.

Hope this works for you.

Lose wireless connection when the phone rings...

You won't have to buy a new adapter as long as the new router uses the same standard (i.e. 802.11b, g or n).

Setup problems with DELL 2350 router

sometimes windows messes the whole network up when using the set up wizard, you need to go to the properties of your wireless cards and check on the TCP/IP line that the radio button that says obtain ip address automaticaly is ticked. Go into the routers properties menu and check that DHCP is enabled and so allow the router to allocate ip addresses automatically, although you may need to do this via an rj45 cable and not wireless to begin with.
