Question about Packard Bell iMedia Computers & Internet

1 Answer

My computer has blue lines all over the screen. If I open the computer normally, it doesn't continue from the windows charging bar, it ends up in a black screen doing nothing. If I start with Safe Mode, or resolution 640x480, Windows starts, but there is blue lines all over the screen, that kills my eyes. When I go to the BIOS, instead of the normal options it appears all of symbols and signs without sense (like; a&/!%sE()"(!·)Y). I have tried to reinstall the drivers of the graphic card, change the BIOS battery, clean all the computer from dust, clean the contacts of the graphic card, and the problem persist. What can I do? the problem is from the Motherboard or the graphics card? The motherboard is a Foxconn MCP61PM2MA/MCP61SM2MA/MCP61VM2MA. It has two PCI and 4 RAM slots. The graphics card is a Nvidia 8400GS. I don't know if the motherboard has an integrated graphics card besides the graphics card. What I would like to know is, if it is impossible to fix, at least know if it just a problem of the graphics card, and then I would buy a new one. If it is a motherboard problem then I would have to think if it is the value of replacing it.

Run the software coming with the computer or download from your computer supplier, and fix it.
Try to use the Menu from monitor, and make factory default.
God bless you

SOURCE: Black screen comes up "windows

You should opt Safe Mode:

  • On the black screen just navigate throug up and down arrow keys.
  • Goto Safe Mode and press enter.
  • It will boot your system in safe mode.
If the boot is success full:
  • try to remember any software or hardware you recently installed/change. Then remove/uninstall that software/hardware. Also remove some device driver like Video/Audio driver and make re-start. and try to normal boot. If success then install your audio/video.
If no success then I think its time to re-install your windows.
Please post your feed-back.

SOURCE: Setting up dual monitors with NVIDIA 7300 GS Graphics Adapter

so...
your computer don't recognize your nvidia graphic card in PCI Express slot.
you are runing now with computer's integrated graphic card?
if so then you won't have dualview option. in this case it looks for me like you've installed in the wrong way your graphic card.

your NV GeForce 7300 GS has 2 video output?
if yes then you should have the option for 2 monitors on nVIDIA control panel (i have check my nVIDIA GeForce 7600gt and in my case this option is present but is enabled only if i connect the second monitor, so try do so)

you have installed the latest nVIDIA drivers from the official website? http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

check if your video card is corect installed start/run type in " devmgmt.msc ". it will open device manager and under the display adapter tab you should see what video card you use now.

Blue screen &line

Remove any new hardware. This is the usual cause of "Blue Screen". If this doesn't work, you will need to make a note of the code on the screen. It will be a line of letters, numbers and an "x" in it somewhere. Enter this into a search engine such as Google or Yahoo. The likely cause will be shown.

Have line on the top black vertical line not so clear but its not normal

Hi,
Please check if the problem can be seen in the BIOS screen. - you can go to the BIOS screen by tapping F2 repeatedly as soon as you turn on the computer.
If the vertical line can be seen in the BIOS screen, it is already a problem with the LCD screen and you need to contact the computer manufacturer for possible LCD replacement if your computer is still in warranty.
Hope it helps you.
