Question about Microsoft Windows XP Professional With Servise Pack 2 (e8503040) for PC
So i guess my laptop crashed.. i dont know how or why.. I cant run on safe mode, it says that windows xp cannot run in safe mode. i never made any back up disks and the only cd-rom i have is the gateway system recovery cd. which has been a pain in the... anyhow the only thing i CAN do is format the whole thing, which has been okay up until i got to the part where it asks for my windows product code. i have the code.. but i cant type it in on the laptop keyboard or on the digital keypad ( the one on the screen for the stylus) sooooo i cant get any further on it. the caps lock, shift, control ect work but it wont let me type in the code. i cant even press the back or next keys... i miss my laptop..:( can anyone help?
If your laptop contains a free USB port, you can try using a USB keyboard instead of the one on yor laptop. Another way to get around the problem is to use the ASCII codes instead of typing. Press and hold down the "Alt" key and type "65" in your numeric keypad, this will bring up the letter "A", now release "Alt". Again press and hold down "Alt" key and type the "66" for "B" and so on.... But the second method works only if your numeric keypad is functional. all the best Deepu

Go to Start->All Programs-> Accessories -> Accesibility -> On-screen keyboard You can use this with the help of mouse. It works same as keyboard until you get laptop repaired.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
