please follow this :-Remove the case, remove the mechanism cover, cut the mangled tape in pieces and take it out gently - you are going to have to rotate some part to untangle most of it. With all the tape that's out of the cassette removed from the mechanism put the unit back together and eject it.

If it’s not just a simple tape jam, then you have a problem with the loading mechanism. The best solution is to take the deck to a service center.
Press the power butten several times while holding down the eject button. It will solve your problem and clear the error. If it not then there is something wrong with your reel motor or the circuitery which deals the reel motor. You must consult your nearby sony service center.
C:31:23 on a DSR-25 indicates a supply reel problem, most likely caused by a defective cassette housing. Best repair solution is to send it to an authorized Sony repair center.
C:31:40 is "FG fault when starting drum." In plain terms, the video head assembly is not producing a feedback signal that tells the control circuitry that the heads are spinning. Most probable cause is a bad drum assembly, but check to make sure the flex cable going to the drum is properly seated.
