Question about Intel D845GVSR Motherboard
I took my PC to a dealer to inspect for installing an nVIDIA card( possibly 9600GT)....he said it hasn't got the slots, i wonder which slot was he talking about. Can u guys see on the net for this motherboard has got the slot to fit nvidia cards, and yes cards that are able enough to play sumthin like crysis...other sys specs are...2.40 ghz pentium 4, 1 gb ram.
i guess i wont make it to crysis anytime... :(
As a rule any Pentium 4 motherboard would not support a CPU let alone a video card that could play Crysis at any level that would be enjoyable. It's likely you either don't have a video card card expansion slot or that the one you have is AGP.
If you don't, sorry nothing you can do. If you have AGP you could in theory add a sufficiant card to meet the minimum spec and load the game but the store would have done you a disservice by selling it to you as your processor and RAM would barely alloww the game to load and even if a 1GB 9800 could be supported by you PC the performance your CPU could offer would leave the game lagging significantly on the physics side which would really mess up the game.
Frankly I work days in a retail computer store and have played crysis on several PCs, In my experience the minimum PC for "good" gameplay is a tri core AMD at least 2.1Ghz per CPU with 4GB of RAM and a 9600 512MB, and I have tried it on several machines.
My personal recommendation would be bare minimum:
Q6600 or AMD 8000 series Quad Core
9800GT 512MB or ATI 4850 512MB
This will get a decent frame rate and support at least 1680 resolution, in gaming though, more is always better, frankly it would be cheaper to scrap that plan and by an Xbox with a copy of it's version of Crysis for under $400 unless you plan to play other PC only games in which case you can build what I recomended for around $1000US less if you already have a decent monitor or plan to hook up to a 120Hz LCD TV
Hope this helped,
