Printing blank pages on my Sharp AL-1631 copier

To reset the drum light on just about any Sharp AL series copier press the following key's in sequence and as quickly as possible (with 4 seconds for the first 4 keys)
Press "C" then the far left key (exposure mode) then the "C" key then the far left again.
So in other words C, far left, C, far left
If done correctly the display should go blank.
Then key in 24 as if you were going to make 24 copies.
Now press the "print" button
Now key in 7 as if you were making 7 copies
Now press the print button again.
You should now be getting flashing zero's on the display.
Turn the machine off then on again and your drum light should be gone!

tente fazer uma copia com a tampa aberta, e verifica se a luz do escaner esta acendedo. Se não estiver so trocar a lampada do escaner, se estiver e mesmo assim as copias sairem em branco, verifica o cartucho de copias da mesma.

The red light that looks like an empty cylinder on the Sharp AL 1631 Grayscale Copier panel is the "drum replacement required" indicator. The "cartridge replacement" indicator is represented by 6 dots forming a triangular shape.
The drum replacement indicator lights up when there are about 1000 copies left until its end of life. It is only when the indicator starts blinking that the drum really needs replacement.
The part number for the drum is AL-100DR.

2. Exposure Key (far left key on panel)
3. Clear Key (far right key on panel)
4. Exposure Key (far left key on panel)

once the panel goes blank make your display show

• 24 then press your start key
• then 7 press start
• press C one time
• 20 press start
• 1 press start

Then press C until the copier restarts.

Using 1 finger
Press clear
press auto (exposure setting)
press clear
press auto
when it works your display will go blank
enter 24
press start
enter 07
press start agin then turn it off and back on
