Question about Brother LS-2125 Mechanical Sewing Machine

1 Answer

Needle hits plate and breaks or bends wont line up

Also the thread was bunching on the underside and also when the needle did go down it would get stuck and wouldnt come back up. and thats when it started to hit the plate. i know how to set the stitch width but i am never sure where to put the bobbin tension or the other thing that you have to use a screwdriver to turn. i have a manuel and read it so i even rewound my bobbin again to make sure it was tight. i only have had this for 2 months but havent been able to sew right with it once yet.

If your needle is hittle the face plate, then it is out of time.. I would take it to your local repair center.

I dont know.if I am doing it.wrong my thread keeps snapping from the needle my ? Is there a certain way to place the bottom bobbin? For a brother xl5130 sewing machine

If your bobbin was in wrong you would get the "crows nest" on the underside of the fabric. There can be several thing that can cause this: your tension is to tight, for normal sewing is usually around 3-5 (check your manual for proper setting). Your needle or throat plate can have a bur on it that is snagging the thread causing it to break. Needles should be thrown away after 50 hours of sewing to avoid problems. The needle can have a slight bend (from over use) and is rubbing on the throat plate causing it to break. and finally...your just not holding your mouth right! :) (...and sometimes this is really true!). Check your tension, pull the thread, change your needle, rub your finger over the throat plate be sure all is baby skin smooth, re thread you machine...deep breath, relax and start again. Hope this helps, Happy sewing.

Needles break when embroidery carraige moves to sew new area

Check your needle for burrs or bends. If your needle is bent it will hit the plate. Try changing the needle

Ce 5000 prw - upper thread bunching up on underside (lower thread ok), all stitches coming out strait or partial pattern then strait

try changing the needle
also check the top thread tension
check for lint under needle plate
some needles & thread aren't compatable--try this
Cut 6-8 inch piece of thread of the spool you are going to use for your project
Take the needle you are going to use for the project
& insert the thread thru the eye of the needle
& lift one end of the thread to a 45 degree angle
& if the needle is the right size for the thread it will slide down the thread
But if the needle hangs on the thread you need one size larger needle for the thread

Bobbin holder seems to be broke and needle breaks

Hello,
Here are several things to try.

* When you insert your new needle, make sure it’s positioned correctly (usually with the flat side away from the bobbin, but consult your manual), that it goes all the way into the holder, and that the screw is securely tightened.

If there doesn’t seem to be a problem with your needle, try the following:

* Check your pressure foot and make sure it’s attached securely.

* Change your pressure foot Your pressure foot may be bent, causing your needle to hit it.

* Don’t sew over pins a needle that hits a pin can break. Always remove the pins from your fabric before they reach your needle.

* Don’t pull your fabric as you sew. You could be bending your needle back, causing it to hit your needle plate instead of going into the hole. Just guide your fabric, letting it feed on its own.

* Check your needle plate and make sure it's securely in position.

* Change your needle plate. If you’ve been using a straight stitch needle plate (a plate with a small hole, often used for sewing fine, delicate fabrics), switch to a needle plate with a wider hole.

* Check the position of your needle. Sewing machines with zigzag capability allow you to adjust the position of your needle – right, left, or center. If your needle is not positioned correctly, it may be hitting your needle plate or pressure foot.

* Un-thread your machine and remove your bobbin. Clean any loose thread or lint out of your
bobbin case. Re-thread your machine, reinsert and re-thread your bobbin.

* Change your bobbin. There could be a nick along the edge of your bobbin spool that’s catching your thread as you sew.

Also, before you start to sew a seam, hold the upper and bobbin thread tails. Hold them back
and out of the way as you sew your first couple of stitches. This will keep them from getting
caught in your machine.

I hope these solutions help you.

Time janome 3018?

when you say 'bobbin thread bunches' i take it that when you look at the underside of what you have sewn it looks messy. if this is the case and the machine is threaded correctly and the the needle thread is tight enough to bend the needle a little when pulled (with presser foot down) it will most likely be that you need to increase needle tension (maybe to max) when sewing thick fabrics with thicker than normal thread.

if the the needle does not bend a little you may not have the thread in between the tension discs, or there may be thread or lint caught in the tension discs preventing proper tension (try pulling a thin rag through the tension discs to dis-lodge any foreign matter).

How do I adjust the timing on my SINGER CG590C

If you have a zig-zag machine check to see if the needle is set to the correct position. If you are trying to zig-zag, be sure you have the wide holed throat plate on.

Singer 6268, needle timing advice

I have a Singer Sewing machine, Model #6268. The threads have knotted up on the underside of the material. When I finally was able to pull it all out, it caused the needle to hit on the bobbin plate (hope that is right). Now the needle is bending, not going through. How can I adjust it back as it supposed to be? I have had this happen before, but it cost way too much to get it repaired. And I still don't know why this happens (the threads getting tangled).
Thanks!
