Trane air handler model #TWV036B140A Fan wont stop

I have a Trane air handler model #TWV036B140A The fan on my air handler will not shut off no matter what setting I put the thermostat on.

We have tested voltage to the FDR and all is well.
We removed the voltage to the coil of the FDR and the fan stopped.

We then removed the green wire for the terminal strip and waited for a timed period and the fan did not stop.
I wish to confirm that the PCB is at fault and should be replaced or is there more trouble shooting I can do to run down the problem?

Sounds like you have a bad fan relay, the fan should shut of within 30 to 120 seconds after t-stat is satsified.

I have an older trane twe030c140b0air handler and it was workingq fine then today froze. Fan in unit will not run. Sparks from conteoller. Is that the correct name? Unit is 208 thanks

Turn power off to air handler. Jump red and green inside the machine. Turn power on. If fan runs then the problem is likely outside of the machine, that being tstat or tstat wire.

How do I fix my Trane air handler to keep it from turning off about 20 seconds after being commanded to turn on?

Some units require both a start and a run capacitor. It's possible the wrong capacitor was replaced. It's also possible to add a run capacitor to a system to keep the fan running. There is an outside chance the bearings in the fan motor are worn to the point it's time to replace the motor.

Why did the air handler on my 1999 Trane heat pump stop working? Could it be a fuse in outside unit

The fan is controlled by a relay that is operated by the thermostat. There is usually a wiring diagram inside the unit that will show the location of the relay.

I have a Trane heat pump, model #TWP060C300A and a Trane air handler, model #TWE065E130A. Heat pump is 5.0 ton, split system. Air handler has a variable speed motor and a 20Kw 3-phase auxiliary heat strip....

Honeywell Chronotherm thermostats have always had a great reputation for longevity and reliability. They are also much more user-friendly than the other types of programmable thermostats out there. Make sure you get one that states 2-stage heat, heat pump. T8611G will offer that for you. There are many out there that claim to be suitable for heat pumps; however, they do not have the ability to utilize your auxiliary heat strips (2nd stage of heat).
Before you attempt to replace, be sure to write the wire colors and their corresponding terminal marking on a sheet of paper........of your old thermostat. This is very important to make it easier to hook up the new thermostat. Also, before you disconnect the wires, be sure to shut off the circuit breaker to your air handling unit. You can ensure you have the right one by putting the fan switch in "ON". When you turn off the right breaker, the fan will stop running. :-)

I hope you find this information to be very helpful to you. Please don't forget to leave a rating.

Upgrade Baystat 239 to a Honeywell RTH7600D controller

For Trane sytems, B is your "Common" wire. O is your reversing valve relay, G is your fan, Y is your compressor contactor, R is Hot, Brown will not be used on your electronic tstat. X2 is your backup electric heaters. Without knowing what terminals are on your new tstat, I cannot offer more information than this. The installation manual may indicate what each terminal is controlling. I strongly suggest to write down ALL of the terminals and colors from your old t-stat and be sure to turn off the power to your air handler. Put the fan switch on your tstat to ON before turning off the power. Make sure the fan is running. Then turn the power off to your Air Handler. If your fan stops running, you have turned the power off to your tstat and are ready to start replacing it with your new tstat. I hope you find this helpful. Good Luck!!!

Why does my fan runs continus. and the condenser won't run out side.

The fan runs continously because your condensor is not kicking on and removing the heat. The thermostat needs to come under the set temp. to kick off the fan. If your compressor doesn't run and the fan on the outside unit does run, your compressor has an issue. If nothing runs outside, then your transformer on the inside unit(air handler) has an issue. This could also be a control relay on the condenser or the air handler.

Trane air handler cycling rapidly

Depending on the age of your Trane unit. The fan relay has a time delay. This is a solid state board on the relay. Most of the time they stick on or off. Check for loose wires. But start with relay.

Electric furnace/heater pump/fan unit won't shut off

There are dip switches on the main board.. When you remove the lower panel on the air handler there are instructions to where the dip switches should be for your units fan control. if the switches are in the correct configuration.. The Thermostat may be malfunctioning or not wired properly. and last.. and most expensive.. the motherboard may also be failing.
