what part is leaking ?what type of set up do you have? steam or water
make sure you completely drained and refill the system before use. your water level needs to be corrected or this will force water up the lines instead of steam
your radiators need to be pitched so that the steam (water) can return back when the system shuts off
as for the leak. where it is or what part is leaking

The plumbers repair should be guaranteed, give him a call back.
It sounds to me that the pilot flame needs to be adjusted or the thermocouple is not aligned properly or there is a draft that is blowing out the pilot.

there is a zoneing valve thats suppose to be in the line to keep this from happening, might even have a check valve either way which ever one you have is bad and should be changed with a new one
