Question about Logitech Z-5500 Computer Speakers

3 Answers

PLEASE HELP! Hi, I really need help with this. I already have logitech Z 5500 of my own and I absolutely love it! But I have used it so much that my main speaker box (the bass booming box with all the inputs and outputs plugs in the back) has overheated and broke down. It does not work anymore, but the rest of my smaller speakers (the center, front right/left, rear right/left speaker) still works fine. So I just need to order this one specific part, the main boombox speaker. Can you please help me out with that? Been 6 months searching for help

As Margu suggests, if you are certain of your diagnosis then logitech are the first call for identical part replacement. If this is not possible then I suggest removing the faulty speaker and taking it to your local electronic parts shop for a similar replacement. I cannot see from your profile where you are living but if you are in the US or UK then Tandy or Maplin should be able to help you. If this is no help then let us know the diameter of the speaker and describe/measure the fixing holes. Better still take a clear picture of the speaker next to a ruler. We want to help, Regards

First, kindly check the warranty card that came with the product.Lets hope that the warranty is still active and that it would cover the replacements parts and repair/labor of the booming box.If the warranty is no longer active or had expired, check an ad for a list of technicians nearest your place who specialize with logitech and canvass from them how much it would cost to repair and restore the booming box to its imacculate condition. Also, check the Logitech website for a store that has the same booming box in its stock. We can open the unit and check which part was shorted but we would still buy from electronics store the parts that needed replacements.

Hi, i just recently bought some logitech z-5500 and have tried to hook them to my mac. The problem is that the speakers are far too quiet they all work but they are not giving out 505watts rms. My mac only...

Hey there,

The 3.5mm socket is the only thing you can plug into on a mac for speakers.

Have you checked to make sure that the system volume is turned up? Use the volume buttons on the mac keyboard to turn it up.

Let me know if this does or doesnt work and we'll try something else!

Good luck :)

How can I connect my logitech Z 5500 to a sony bravia KDL-32U3000

You can buy a Digital Coax audio cable from any electronic store, this will be a single cable that will connect from your z-5500 to your TV.

No power in Z-5500 logitech speakers

The logitech z 5500 digital is very sensitive to power peaks. One of the most know problems is that the fuse breaks because of these peaks. I´ll show you how to replace the system´s fuse.

First of all, you just need to write down the specification of the system´s fuse. The system´s fuse specifications are printed in the back side of your subwoofer, right next to the subwoofer´s on/off switch. In an european system it says: "T2AH250V (Time Delayed)". If you use another power voltage (120v), it may say something different. Anyway, write it down on a piece of paper and go to an electricity store and ask for a similar fuse (It is very cheap. Not more than 1$)

-The best way to get a similar fuse would be by bringing the broken fuse with yourself to the store-

In the back of your subwoofer, using an screw-driver, un-screw the fuse´s cover and remove the broken fuse. Replace it with the new fuse, attatch it to the cover and screw it back again.

If you turn on your system now, it will probably work fine.

Unplug the speakers from the mains and computer. Wait for 5-10mins, replug to mains and computer.

If this does not work, try reseating the audio card (while the PC is switched off and the speakers unplugged, or try using a different slot.

If neither works, it could be that your system is defective. Please see HERE about an RMA. Or you can eMail Logitech support at

Hope that helps!
