Fridge and freezer not cooling

I have a Sears Kenmore refrigerator made in Feb of 2007. Model number starts with 253. Freezer is on top. I replaced the Defrost timer and the defrost thermostat. I tested the defrost heater and it works fine. I ohmed out the temputure control and it checks out fine. I also bypassed the temputure control to make sure. The fridge still came on as well as the compressor. I can not get this thing to cool.

This should be under warranty... check to see because you have a big problem. you know how to get the back of obviously let it run take the back panel off the freezer and pay real close attention to where the frost ends on the coils i bet you are low on freon and or the compressor is bad....

Check to see if you hear the fans running whlie having the doors open and holding the light switch in.
If the unit is running and cooling but the fans are not, you may have a fan out. Post back your results to me.

Our Kenmore refrigerator, Model 253. 6480240C doesn't cool.

I doubt you have a loss of refrigerant if the freezer is fine. Typically, the freezer would be more like a fridge with this condition.

So a couple things to check.. First, open the freezer door. There is a tunnel in the middle of the back wall. Can you hear,or feel the fan motor blowing air? If yes, then open the fridge door and feel in the top back where the tunnel is there will be two holes at the lowest part and you should feel air coming out.

look at the vents on the back panel. can you see through them? or is it all frosted over? If so,you have a defrost issue.
