Back lighting would not have affect on resolution just brightness. floresents are just on if high voltage is not high enough it won't turn on if dim backlight is bad.

well if your lcd has no bulge capacitors test your tft lamp both top & down of the screen( particularly top) with spare tft lamp. or use another screen to test it. secondly, test the c5607 transistors in the inverter section but if you know how to use spare tft lamp very well , you will easily detect between your screen & the inverter

Will a dell tft turn on with no source

Your monitor should turn on without a source and display the floating 'Dell - self-test Feature Check' message. If it does not, verify the power LED is on "GREEN" and indicating either power on / diagnostics mode or "Amber" power saving mode. If neither indication you have power problems. If these symptoms do not apply, shine a light on the sceen and see if there is a faint image. If this is true, you have backlight problems.

Dell e173fpc Display Issue

Check if the cable connected to your monitor and video card is fix and secure.. Check also if the video card is properly seated in the motherboard.... Try to check using other computer if the video card is working..

If the test is all ok.. then the last option will be to check the backlight inverter of your monitor....To do this, you need to bring the monitor to a credible technician to have it replace..

much appreciated if you could rate this help..thanks..

I have a black screen with a slow blinking green power button. I checked the connections they are good. I have another monitor that works fine with the same computer, and cable.

Please check your screen resolution the best resolution is 1024 x 768 on xp or if ur vedio card supports set it on 1260 x 768 for the display setting.

ViewSonic Optiquest Q7b 17" LCD Monitor has a fuzzy picture

LCD monitor needs to be fed with native resolution from the PC video out, this monitor native resolution is 1280x1024 @60Hz, try that setting to see if it helps before opening up the monitor to look for failed components.

Usually the inverter and or the back lights fail. In some types of panels the back lights are not replaceable. In most the inverter is replaceable.

You may be able to order a new inverter from the manufacture. Most of the time they will not sell any internal parts to non authorized service reps for their products. In this case they will tell you send them the monitor for service if you want it repaired.

One thing that you could do with the power supply module is open it up, and test all the capacitors with an ESR meter. Any caps that measure out of specs can be changed. Caps are usually generic and can be ordered from most any electronics parts supplier. This is a gamble if the fault is only caps. If the caps are epoxy encapsulated then there will be nothing you can do with this.

INPUT SIGNAL OUT OF RANGE

some how your screen resolution has changed above or below what your monitor can display. you need to boot your computer using another monitor that can work with the resolution your computer has switched to(i used a spare crt monitor when it happened to me) change your resolution in display properties to a normal level like 1027x768, and while the computer is on swap the monitor cables to verify the lcd is working.
It is perfectly safe to unplug the video cable and plug it back in while the computer is turnned on.
