How do you change ink on a canon p20-dh calculator

For accounting offices and stores, calculators that produce a printed paper are indispensable. Canon's desktop or commercial printing calculators use ribbon tape, and you'll need to change the ribbon when it is used up. All Canon desktop and commercial printing calculators use the same method for changing the ribbon.
  • Turn off the calculator.
  • Pull up on the tab on the far side of the printer cover to remove the cover.
  • Pinch together the ribbon lock (the arrow shows you the direction to pinch). Lift the ribbon spools off the shafts and discard them.
  • Separate the new ribbon spools. Guide the ribbon tape around the four guiding pegs and set the spools on the shafts. The spools should be peg side down.
  • Rotate the spools so the peg at the bottom of the spool goes into the hole of the spool holder. Release the ribbon locks.
  • Rotate the spools to make the ribbon taut, keeping the ribbon positioned around the guide pegs.
  • Replace the printer cover and turn the calculator on.

I have a brother xl5012 and would like to change the spool pin..not sure if its broken? the one on top is silver and the spare is plastic..not sure what to do..the manual has no answers.. thank you

On most machines, the spool pin simply screws into a threaded hole. If it was welded on or attached in some other permanent way, changing it may need a service visit. Brother has one of the very best service departments of any company I know. But try to unscrew the old one.. it might be stuck, a drop of penetrating oil, or maybe some pliers, might assist. If it comes out, a new one should screw in easily enough, so long as it matches the size of the hole and the threading.

Why does my thread get wound up on the spindle of the pfaff 230 sewing machine

Do you mean the spindle that holds the spool of thread, on the machine's top ?

If it's winding on that, chances are it's something about the spindle itself. Check that there isn't a loose washer under the spindle. If there is, check the washer for any rough spots, it may need replacing. Make sure the spindle is firmly screwed into the machine, if it screws in. If it's welded on, make sure there are no rough spots. If all that's ok. try putting a felt washer under the spool. You can b buy them but they're easy to make. Just cut a spool base size circle out of firm felt, and snip a hole in the middle just large enough to slip onto the spool. A leather punch works great for this. If it's still winding up, check the instructions, if you have them, and make sure you have the thread coming out from the spool in the right direction. Some machines are very picky about how they are threaded. For some, the thread must come from the back of the spool, for others, from the front of the spool. Try both to see if one orientation works better. And last check there is no rough spot, either on the needle or any of the thread guides. If the thread is being chafed anywhere along the thread path, excess tension may result, which can cause the thread to start winding on the spindle. Changing the needle is easy. Changing a guide may not be, but if it's a guide that's got a rough spot, see if you can remove the guide and then smooth the rough spot using some very fine sandpaper or emery cloth. The entire thread path has to be perfectly smooth for thread to move as it should.

Bernina artista 180 bottom stitch bunching

bunching under the material is bird nesting is a result of loose needle thread tension thread the machine up to the point of threading the needle
pull on the thread and you should have a reasonable resistance to pulling the thread
adjust the tension until you get that then thread the needle
while you may be using the tension settings if there is a problem in the tension plates area , the tension will not get high enough regardless of the indicated setting
bobbin tension can be reasonably loose
correct tension is when both threads meet at the center of the materials being sewn

Need instructions on changing the spool on electric grass trimmer/edger

Turn the trimmer over, I put it in my lap.Remove the orange spool cap by squeezing with thumb & forefinger. It will come right off. Remove & discard(there has got to be something they can be recycled as?) If you are right handed, hold the new spool firmly with left hand with flat side with the arrows up, keep a firm grasp & use small needle nosed pliers(I use hemostats) etc. to free the loose end of the line where it is looped thru the 2 slots. Keeping hold of the spool so it doesn't all unwind, let enough out to feed thru the hole on the side of the compartment where the old spool was. 2-3" will be enough. Then, place the spool into it's compartment with the flat arrow side up.Keep a good grip on the spool until you get it into place. Replace the spool cap by aligning it in the 2 slots that it came from & gently squeezing again until it locks into place & you are set to go. Don't worry about feeding the line out to proper length, it will do that all by it's self.

Sewing machine design

It sounds like the spool cap is broken or defective. It should fit snugly on the spool pin. If it is constantly falling off, then try finding a replacement. The horizontal spool pin design helps the machine pull the thread off the spool because the thread spool does not need to spin. The added pressure of spinning a thread spool contributes to tension issues (especially if you are using large thread spools that are so common now days).

On new machines, frequently the thread cutter is on the back of the presser foot lifter.

The thread guide above the needle is usually threaded from the left side because the thread tends to be pulled toward the right.

Unfortunately, what you are experiencing are pretty much common functions with most newer sewing machines, so even changing machines may not result in any greater degree of satisfaction.

How to change the correction tape?

Changing the Correction Tape

1) Move the print carrier to the center of the platen using the SPACE or BS key.

2) To replace the correction tape, lift out the typing ribbon cassette (see Changing The Ribbon Cassette) and remove the two spools of the lift off tape by pulling them outwards.

3) Place the empty spool of new tape on the left pin so that the tape winds clockwise. Place the tape around the left guide. Pull the tape around the right

guide and place the loaded spool on the right pin so that the tape unwinds counter-clockwise.

Note: Make sure the sticky side of the tape is facing the platen.

4) Manually turn the left-hand spool in the clockwise direction, tightening the tape until resistance is felt.

5) Replace the typing ribbon cassette.
6) Press the CODE + = (SETTING) key.

Changing the Ribbon Cassette

1) Move the print carrier to the center of the platen using the SPACE or BS key.

2) Hold the ribbon cassette on both sides and lift up the front portion (where the ribbon is exposed) to remove the cassette.

3) To insert a new cassette, place the back end of the cassette on the cassette

holder on the carrier and gently press down on the front of the cassette unit it clicks into place.

4) Turn the ribbon feed knob counter-clockwise again to take up any slack in the ribbon.
5) Presss the CODE + = (SETTING) key.

Good Luck!

The starting cord has broken and I need to make repairs . I would like some guidence

Take the housing off for the pull rope. Inside you'll find a spool. Take that off and underneath you'll find a spring. Replace the pull rope and connect it to the spool like the old one is. With the handle outside of the case run the rope through the pull rope hole then attach it to the spool. Wind all but a foot or so of the new rope back onto the spool. The spring will have a way of attaching to the case and to the spool. Attach the springs to the case. There will be a notch cut into one side of the spool. You need to lay the rope into this notch and then place spool back into the case at the same time attaching the spring to the spool. Don't worry about tensioning the springs. Once the spool is back in you need to start winding up the spool in the direction that tightens the spring. You'll need to make about 5-8 rotations depending on the length of the rope. At this point, position the notch in the spool even with the hole where the pull rope enters the case. Pull on the pull rope handle until you pull the slack rope back through the notch and outside the housing. Then release the rope and the slack should be pulled back inside the housing and wrapped around the spool. Here is a video on changing a pull rope on a lawn mower. The idea is basically the same.
