Having the same problem.......I have cleaned Areators many times over the years. This one is the most cheapest with too many parts that come apart. The Insulation / Owner's Manual was no help either.....it does not show you the Areator assembly.......figures.

I haven't seen anything online that shows you either.......So much for cleaning then......I'm sure they just want you to buy another. Grrr!

SOURCE: thourough reassembly info

This is the site I use before using the pay for sites. http://www.hpcnec.com This is the link for your device. http://www.hpcnec.com/cgi-bin/simpleforum.cgi?fid=12&topic_id=1143848182 As per usual they always show you the removal or dismantle procedure and then advise you that installation is a reversal of the removal procedure. Yes, this includes the pay for Doc's as well, so all they really show you in detail is how to dismantle your device properly. Effective reassembly will be based on how much notice you took during dismantle, if you have a synaptic memory, it'll all go sweet. I use a digital camera too take a snapshot of everything assembled and again after you remove each peice of the device.

Faucet will not swivel

if your faucet is new....the spout was put together wrong and it needs to be removed and re-attached correctly...(friction washer/ring in wrong position).....if not new....spray some penetrating oil on the connection that is supposed to swivel....make sure the surface is dry and try to avoid overspray. let it sit for 15 min...then spray it again...and again let it sit ....after sitting for a few minutes.....gently try to move the spout side to side...if no change...repeat the first processs...and continue to repeat until it becomes moveable....once moveable....detach the spout.....dry out and remove any foreign matter from the connection side on the faucet...then apply a small amount of faucet grease to the connection threads and the inside barrel....a thin even coat ...excess grease will clog your aerator...don't use too much....now repeat the cleaning and lubricating process on the removed spout connector....reassemble.....remove aerator....turn on the water and flush....replace the aerator....turn water on full blast....check for leaks and for swing...it should swivel now ....if not...loosen the connection nut a tad and try again....if still no swing....you are missing a friction ring somewhere in the connection and it needs to be replaced before you will be able to swing the spout.....good luck...

The small round metal mesh discs inside the kitchen tap have fallen out & will not stay in when re-inserted. Now the water squirts out at weird angles drenching the kitchen work surfaces. Do I need a...

Hi Jean,

These mesh discs and the part they go into - along with a few other small parts - make up what is called "an aerator".

steve_con_89.jpg

Most aerators simply screw on threads at the end of your faucet. You can remove it by twisting it. You may need a wrench to loosen it first. Wrap the aerator in thick cloth / towel so that the wrench does not dent or scrape the finish on the aerator body.

steve_con_90.jpg

Some aerators thread up and inside the faucet - rather than at the end - and need a special wrench to remove

steve_con_91.jpg

Once removed, you should reassemble the parts and reinstall on the faucet. You may find replacement aerators in Home Depot, Lowe's, etc. if you're missing parts, etc. If changing it out, be sure to bring the old one with you to match.

I hope this helps & good luck!

You took off the faucet, but did you take the aerator off the spout? That's a very common trouble, especially if you have hard water with lots of minerals. The aerator screen gets clogged and your water slows to a trickle or is stopped entirely.

The aerator just screws onto or into the faucet, but you might need a wrench to remove it if it hasn't been off in a while. Tape the jaws of the wrench to keep from damaging the chrome unless you plan to replace the aerator. Once it's off the faucet you can take the aerator apart, noting the order of the pieces, and clean off the screen. Reassemble it and put the aerator back on and you should have your water back.

You might also just want to replace the thing; you can find replacements at hardware stores and home improvement places. Just take the old one along to make sure you're getting the right replacement.

Sounds like you have sediment built up in the pipes, and maybe the furthest faucet is the gathering place.
Take off each shut-off valve at furthest faucet and connect a water hose that flows into nearby toilet bowl.
You can buy garden-hose-to-1/2-pipe adapter at hardware.
Open water so it flushes the line into toilet bowl.
Then clean out valves and reassemble shut-offs and grundfos connection.
Remove faucet aerator and flush line up to faucet.
Install new aerator.

Turning on this faucet, hot or cold, results in a split second of water flow, then it cuts off for full second, then it cuts back on. Adjusting the pressure of the water entering the system by turning the...

I would take the aerator off, and turn faucet on to see if the same thing happens. the aerator screws on the very end of faucet were water comes out. You may need channel locks to loosen, If your worried about marking up the aerator with scratches, then hold a cloth around aerator to protect the finish. Do not squeeze to hard with pliers. If there is a constant flow now with the aerator off, then your problem is a clogged up aerator. Disasemble, laying pieces out on table the same way they came out for proper reassembly, after cleaning.

When diagnosing faucets, I always start at the discharge end. Remove the aerator and try to run the water. If you get water flow, then the aerator is clogged with some junk. If not, take apart the faucet ball again and make sure the rubber seats are seated correctly. Reassemble the handle and try to turn on the water. If that does not restore flow, remove the handle and carefully turn on the shut off valves below the sink to check for flow. Get the idea?

DELTA MODEL 470-WH LOW WATER FLOW AT KITCHEN FAUCET

This could be a couple of things.

  1. First remove the aerator from the wand and make sure you have plenty of flow with it off.
  2. If there is flow clean or replace the aerator.
  3. Remove the wand and look between the hose connection and the wand there should be a screen between them. Remove the screen and clean or replace.
  4. Make sure hose is kinking under the sink.
If you need a diagram of the faucet with part numbers here is the link:

Hope this helps!
