Question about Computers & Internet

The 110 fields are causing problems

The problem we are having is this. we are on a job that requires consolodation points. we are using cat6 systemax cable and jacks and patch panel. they wanted consolodation points which are the 110 fields where they cross connect then go to the drop. We are barely able to pass any of the drops. we have to pinch the pairs togther at the connections in the 110 blocks and we will re-do the jacks over and over until they pass and they will only pass by like 0 db's or a little better it has us guys a little confused and anyone we have talked to has not seen or done anything like this. and the deadline for the job is coming up

Connect talktalk new router

You should be just fine with the cabling that you have. I am betting you have Cat5 or Cat5e. The upgrade would be Cat6. I doubt your new router would be sensitive enough to require a specific grade data cable. Your speed has to be slow from low RAM, too many start up apps running or from the service provider.

My required cable ( cat5 or cat6 )

if you need to transfer data at less then 300 MB/S then use cat5 cable and insert the switch at minimum after 300ft. length.

if data rate is in gaga Bytes then use the cat6 other wise don't waste money on cat6.

I need networking cables, which cables are best for use.

CAT6 cables & jacks are better than CAT5E.
CAT5E cables & jacks are better than CAT5.
CAT5 cables & jacks are better than CAT3.
CAT3 cables have problems going faster than 10Mbit/second.
CAT5 cables support 100Mbit/second, and seem to work with 1000Mbit/second ("gigabit") devices.

It should cost around US$ 4.00 per cat6 patch cable. For 1000 pc. you must negotiate with the amount to get a better price quote.

I have a petrol generator, it puts out 110 and 230 the switch that changes over is a on/on switch when it was running my mate switched it over to 110 from 230 and the was a flash now it does not put out...

You probably will need to replace the switch if it flashed over. I would disconnect it and document the exact connections before as there are usually a bunch of wires to the switch. Test the switch with an ohmmeter.

The flashover MAY have discharged the magnetic field of the rotor and you may have to "flash the field" to restore it. Google "flashing field" as there are a lot of methods.

Worst case is if the unit is a brushless generator and the flash over in the switch shorted the rotating diodes on the rotor. That will require servicing of the generator part of the unit to replace the diode modules.

What is the difference between, cable cat6 systemax, China and the U.S

shouldn't be any, cat6 is an industry standard therefor the same across the board. If you are referring to the cable itself there could be stuff such as coloring on the cables, but functionality NONE.
