Question about Kingston Electronics - Others

1 Answer

Hey there, this morning my Kingston usb flash drive fell into a cup of coffee. I removed the flash drive immediately and dried off the excess water. I then proceeded to insert it into my laptop, it worked for a while before I received a message saying that the drive has malfunctioned and cannot be recognised. I now realize that I shouldn't have inserted the drive into the laptop before it had dried completely. Is there any way that I may salvage the drive?

Is there anything on the disk it self? If there is/was a virus on the disk, it could have left a 'autorun.inf' file on it ... So try Right-click and select explore. Or try to access it via the Total Commander
If that doesn't work, try formatting the disk.
This is an often problem with most low-end flash disks.
Did you receive some software with that disk?

SOURCE: USB drive is inserted but reports that disk is not inserted

With the thumb drive inserted in the computer you might try right clicking on “My computer” go to manage and under storage go to disk management. See if your computer reports information on you drive. If not the drive may be damaged or the driver may need to be reloaded

SOURCE: Bought a maxell 8gb usb flash drive. When I try to...

By trying to use it I take that to mean you go to My Computer and select the drive you believe it to be.

Try going to My Computer with the flash drive unplugged and then plug it in while watching My Computer for a new drive letter to appear. That will be the one to use.

If you select the wrong one you will get the message you are experiencing.

How safe are keureg coffee makers as far as mold building in the resovier.

Make a cup of coffee then immediately remove the k-cup, notice how the cup is dry? Coffee doesn't enter the reservoir, it leaves the cup through a separate tube at the bottom. No moisture means no mold buildup, but if you leave a used k-cup in the coffee maker for a week or two you're on your own! :D

My pen drive is fell into water ...light s glowing but now it s not working how to use plz tell

Dry the flash drive as much as possible with a piece of paper towel to absorb excess moisture. Gently pry open the case of the flash drive if possible, using a small flat-blade screwdriver to separate the two halves of the case. This is not essential, but will cut the drying time and will help to limit corrosion. Dry the inside of the case as much as possible with the paper towel. Pour some uncooked rice into a small plastic bag, and then place the flash drive in the bag and seal. Place the bag in a warm, dry place for at least 24-hours. The rice draws out and absorbs any moisture present, speeding up the drying time and ensuring the drive is completely dry. Check the drive after 24 hours. If you can see any moisture, leave the board for 24 hours and repeat until the board is completely dry. Reassemble the case, ensuring the two halves are tight shut. Use a small spot of glue to hold the two halves together securely if necessary. You can then use the flash drive as normal.

if it has fallen into water it might have been damaged beyond repair
the only thing you could try is to dry it out
leave it in a dry place

My tim hortons coffee maker is not brewing as quickly..s there a wayto clean it

Make a 1/2 pot 50/50 mixture of cold water and white vinegar then run it through the machine in normal brewing fashion. Place a clean filter in the brewing cup to catch the white deposits that are removed. Allow the mixture to cool, then repeat the process several times while using the same filter. Finally, run several pots of fresh water through to work out the taste of the vinegar. Repeat whenever the brewing time seems to be excessive.

Water Damage to USB Flash Drive

The problem is very bad. In my openion there is only one solution with this problem. all you need to do is to remove its plastic casing and then put your USB into thinner ( A liquid that can be found at paint stores). Then let it get dry for 5 to 6 hours. And you are done. now connect it to your pc and get your data. Don't forget to rate the solution. Thanks!
