Rotating Hook won't fully turn-Singer 2210

I have a Singer 2210 sewing machine. I was repairing something that was probably too thick for it to handle and it jammed. Now when I turn the handwheel to feed the bobbin thread through, the "rotating hook" (I think that's what it is called) doesn't turn all the way. Have I broken something or is it possible it's just something that I can adjust myself?

The nylon gear driving the hook has probably broken a tooth. Replacements are available if you search the web.
Make sure you get the matched set of driving gear and driven gear.

If the gears are not broken, then the setscrews might have loosened up a bit and the gear's timing is off.
The timing can be reset with info from here:

The rotating hook does not recuperate the tread of the bobbin

Probably needs re-timing. This should be done by an experienced mechanic.
In short, your needle is not in sync with the hook as it comes around to pick up the thread.

Singer Sewing Machine model 9224. Bobbin thread

If you turn the handwheel, can you see a metal ring rotating around the outer edge of the bobbin case? If not rotating, broken gear or timing belt off.
If that ring is turning, remove the needle plate and bobbin case. As this ring now rotates, you will a finger on the ring that will pass behind the needle from right to left and it should catch the thread from the eye of the needle. If this finger, the "hook" passes above the eye, you have a timing problem.

Let me know.

Replacement boards for the 2210 have not been available from Singer since 1998, your best bet is to check eBay for a used or parts machine.

Raising bobbin thread

These machines are timed by belt and go out of time a lot. Check and see that when the needle passes through the plate and travels upward 1/8" at this point the rotating hook should be right behind and above the eye in the needle,my guess is that it is out probably 1 tooth on the timing belt and can usually be corrected by removing the bobbin case and holding the rotating hookk with on ehand and forcing the handwheel with the other hand which will cause the belt to jump a cog and should put your machine back in time I hope this helps
