Okay, this is simple. Your camera can take several pictures at one time in a burst. However when you release the shutter button your processor takes a second to actually SAVE the pictures to the card in the camera. One thing than has helped me in my wedding photography business is to buy the fastest speed cards I can find. It significantly reduced my "busy" time.

SOURCE: CANNOT FIND IMAGES ON MY CAMERA.
Hey, Matt here. This could be a setting on the camera- have you put the card into a computer to find the images?? If you are just cheacking it on the camera there is folders that you can set up in the menu to store different photos. you should be able to go through the folders on the camera: when you are in playback section go to the menu and chane the folder. This is sometimes set on auto to create new folders on different days or months etc. It could also be a faulty card. but if you were able to view thm before then I doubt this would be the source of your problem. The only other thing I could think it would be is the firmware on the camera which you could reload via the canon website and connect the camera to your PC. Hope this helps, Good luck, Matt. On most canon elph cameras you can either go through the menu and reset back to factory default and this might solve the black or white screen. If that does not work you should be able to hold the menu button down for several seconds until a reset prompt pops up. You will then click on yes for reset and this should completely reset the camera and the screen should be back to normal.
