Question about Mitsubishi WD-73735 Television

1 Answer

I'm really confused on this.... I have a wd-73735 DLP TV. I plugged in a cheap dvd player in input one and it played for an hour. using a composite cable. I plug in a satellite box using component video cables or HDMI cable in input one of either port and The TV turns off after 15 minutes. I give it a few minutes turn the TV back on and another fifteen minutes it turns off. I ran the diagnostics like I have read, hitting the "INPUT" and "MENU" at the same time and received a code of 3-4. I'm confused though... How can a dvd player using composite video play a movie for an hour and an HD device using HDMI or component not work longer than 15 minutes. It says its a lamp cartridge failure most likely, but wouldn't the lamp do the same thing if I was watching a dvd too?

SOURCE: Mitsubishi HDMI connection trouble

I have the same issue with my 73". Rather then going over all of my connections and equipment I'll just say htat I feel your frustration. I have been on the phone with Mitsubishi directly and it appears as though they have a free software upgrade that should address this problem. If you call 1-800-332-2119 and press 4 in the menu you will get someone to help you. Be patient. They will make you go through all of the fixes that you have already tried. They will mail you a flash drive that goes right into the front USB port of your TV. I hope this is of help. Good luck.

Nothing on screen when DVD inputs are plugged into our Aquos.

Check that the input you are plugging the DVD into on the TV is actually selected as the TVs input. Try using a different input and also different input types/cables. Most DVD players will have HDMI and also either component or composite type outputs. Try the different cable type and make sure the TV is looking at the correct input. Do you have sound?

How to connect dvd player to LG RZ-32LZ55 in LCD TV

This 'TV' is really more of a video monitor. It has one DVI input, 2 SCARTS (1 RGB); component video input; composite video input; S-video, and stereo audio and RF inputs. Best picture would be using the component inputs if your DVD player has the outputs. If not you'll have to consider the S-video or composite (yellow) plugs. (Neither is HD capable....)

Use three RCA cables, yellow, white and red to connect DVD player to TV as shown in the diagram below. Connect yellow to yellow and white to white. Connect red to red. Select on the TV, the A/V input where the DVD is connected using the TV remote control. Power on TV and DVD, place a disc in tray of DVD player and press PLAY.

Howdo I hook a DVD player up to this model?

The easiest way would be to hook it up using the composite cables from the DVD player to the Rear of the TV.

First safely and slowly turn your TV around you should see inputs in the rear of the TV.

Second identify your composite inputs. They will be visible via the standard RCA Composite colors, which are Red(Audio), White(audio), and Yellow(Video)
Third Once you have found the RCA Composite Inputs, Take the cable which are inserted into the DVD player and Plug it into the TV's Composite Inputs.

Once all that is done, turn on your DVD player. Then using your TV's remote Press the "TV/VCR" / "Source" / "Input" button on your remote till you see video from your dvd player displayed on your TV.

The dr-mv100b only plays in black and white?

You may want to make sure your connections are correct. You will typically see this when you hook up composite connections into component inputs or vice versa.

Make sure if using composite (Red,White, Yellow) cables that they are hooked up to the composite out put jack on rear panel of the unit.*Note: composite out put jack is located directly below the composite 'Input 1' jack with a black 'background' on this recorder. So don't confuse this 'output' with an 'input' simply because it is below the 'input' jack.

Also make sure you are hooking up into composite inputs and not component (Green,Blue,Red) jacks.

Dvd will only play in black and white any help

Are you using the composite input on your TV? If so, you might have plugged the input cable into one of the other video outputs on the DVD player. There may be a switch on the back of the DVD player to select the output format.

DVD Player not working

Go to menu. Select inputs. Assign input 1(or whatever input you connectedthe dvd to) as DVD. Then exit menu. Press the input key, scroll over to DVD. I reccomend using a component cable with a digital audio cable, if you do not have a DVD player that has an HDMI connection. You will find that a blu-ray player will be much more satisfying for the television you have. Basically by hooking up that old dvd player to that tv, is the same as hooking an 8-track to a $2,000.00 stereo. It will work, but the quality is going to suffer! Good luck, and believe me. It is worth the extra money to get a blu-ray player. It will play all your old dvd's and blu-rays. That way you are getting the full potential of your set.

Random flashing streaks on screen

Check multiple inputs and multiple sources. Check your dvd player; does it happen there? If not, you are probably right to suspect the cable box.

When you are checking multiple inputs, you want to make sure that if your cable box uses component or HDMI, that you check your DVD player on the same style input.

The reason for this is that your electrical chassis treats the analog (composite, s-video) inputs different from the HD and digital inputs (component, DVI, HDMI).

If you try your DVD player and cable box on the same input and experience the same probelm, you probably need to have the electrical chassis rebuilt in order to fix a problem on the tv's FMT board.

Cost: $800+
Wait time: 4-8 weeks.
