SOURCE: bad odor when open door after cycle

This is just a suggestion, run a cycle and after a few mins of it washing, open the door and add a cup of bleach and let the washer run. See if this helps.

SOURCE: I have a Bosch dishwasher

Hi,

Yes, you can switch the cycle completion signal off (or raise/lower the volume)

1. Switch the dishwasher off using the ON/OFF button
2. Open the door
3. Switch the dishwasher on again. (One of the wash cycle LEDs will flash.)
4. Hold the > button in. Continue holding it and press and release the Start/Reset button once, then release the > button.

"Clean" and one other LED should now be flashing. This indicates that the dishwasher is in the options/settings mode. If they are not flashing, start over at step 1.

5. Press > repeatedly, until the LEDs for "Clean", "Sanitized" and "Rinse Agent" are all flashing.
6. Press repeatedly until none of the LEDs are flashing.

The number of flashing LEDs indicate the volume setting . . .

0 = Silent
1 = Volume level 1
2 = Volume level 2
3 = Volume level 3

7. Press the Start/Reset button once to save the setting and exit the options mode
8. Close the door
9. Switch the dishwasher off.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Regards,
BElectric

SOURCE: My dishwasher, a Bosch Silence Plus 48dba, makes one beep about every 20 minutes.

Interesting...You have a whole LOT of COMPANY... (upset users)

Evidently this machine has been tormenting its OWNERS since early 2005.

My Search got "banishing the beep bosch" (actually pretty funny)

Found great answers to your question BEFORE I was able to PULL UP any technical SPECIFICATIONS.

Most notably in 2008 by RACHELL G ("best answer") at

Where-in you will find several approaches for TRANQUILITY... Most notable...

It tells you two buttons MUST be SIMULTANEOUSLY PRESSED to put the WASHER into PROGRAM MODE.

What display to look for... "0" from display.

More importantly... Tells US the changes must be SAVED to take effect on EXIT (below)

From JIMWROBLESKI... SAME SOURCED Article:

Rachel G is on the right track. Do you see a line under your wash selection buttons? Find the button at the right end of the line (probably labelled Pots & Pans, Half Load, or some other wash setting). Hold that and the power button down until you see a 0,1,2 or 3. Hit the button again till you see a 0 in the display.
Then hit the Power button to lock in the selection.

These instructions are a wee bit more precise:

Cycle completion signal:
The cycle completion signal alerts you when a cycle completes and the dishwasher has waashed and
dried the dishes. You can choose to disable the tone or adjust the volume.
To activate:
1 With the unit OFF, press and hold the RIGHTof the two Cancel/Reset buttons and then press and hold
the On/Off button.
2 When the light on the Cancel/Reset button you are pressing illuminates and the tone goes off,
release both buttons.
3 Press the RIGHT of the two Cancel/Reset buttons again until you achieve the desired volume or until
there is no tone (to turn cycle completion signal OFF).
4 Press the On/Off button to save the setting.

Hope these are more helpful.

Rid of Mildew Smell?

Make sure there are no leaks from the machine. look behind it and check the water inlet hose and connectors for any damage. Also look under the machine for any water as this may indicate a leak from the internal hose and pipe work and / or water pump. Also check that the outlet hose is completely clear of debris and soap scum build up and check that the filter is clean.

To keep the machine clean of waste build up and to keep any bad odours away
1. Remove all items from the washer.
2. Open the dispenser drawer and 2/3 cup (160 mL) of liquid chlorine bleach to the bleach compartment. DO NOT use more than 2/3 cup (160mL) of bleach per cycle as this will lead to product damage.
3. Close the washer door and dispenser drawer.
4. Select the Clean Washer cycle or a full wash cotton 104 F wash (40 C). DO NOT use any higher temperature as this will cause unnecessary fumes
5. Press Start and allow cycle to complete.
6. After the cycle is complete, leave the door open slightly to allow ventilation and drying of the washer interior.
7. Repeat the cleaning procedure monthly

Can't get locked door open

For the door locking problem, on several of the Bosch washers, there is a round plate at the front bottom with a hole in it. One can place a thin phillips screw driver or some thing that goes in and turn the plate while pressing the plastic latch behind the hole to open the plate.

There is a mecahnical door lock release mechanism you can see or reach inside. Open the washer door while pulling on that. You can atleast get to your clothes inside.

There is a filter/drain mechanism inside this area. The manual and the postings here suggest a few more things you can do further to remove junk/blockages in this, but that is a messy job.
