have had the desktop for about a year and a half now. same copy of windows the whole time. Why would it tell me now?

Well did you install recently some software ? Sometimes Windows is interfering and asking you in a sneaky way to open your PC for updates. If you got an illegal version, you've opened the port for Microsoft to scan for an illegal version. Another way is that someone else used a similar registration key. When (s)he also hasthe "automatic update" opened, Microsoft notices the reg-key is used more than once at the same time.... If you got a legal key, you can contact MS without any problems.

There are 3 possible options which comes to my mind :

1) An illegal Windows registration-key is used at your computer.

2) The (il)legal registration key at your computer got used at multiple computers.

3) You might have re-installed Windows at your PC and started another online-registration with the same key.

I'm unable to start my computer. Everytime I do, I get this blue screen saying a problem's detected and when I click the startup repair, I still get that blue screen again. Help

Startup repair is only meant for fixing software startup issues, mainly programs blocking a startup or registry/startup config errors.
The BSOD or Blue Screen Of Death error is generally aimed at hardware errors. Specifically, it could be your RAM, Hard drive, or any other main component in your computer. The most common is RAM, try replacing your memory sticks and see if it works. Hard drives can cause this error as well when they are on their last legs.
All in all, you may have to re-install windows completely.

Blue Screen of Death during startup

When you get the BSOD - it gives a brief description of what the error is - this should lead you in the proper direction for finding the culprit - is the computer a new configuration - is it an old system that just started doing this? Have you made any change? All these things have to be considered and evaluated.

Cannot find License Server

1. TS and TS licensing server are installed in the same 2003 server. The lsview doesn’t list any TS licensing server.
2. If you open the Terminal Server Licensing, it shows “Finding servers… Connecting to \\apps\chicagotech.net. It never finds the apps server. There is not apps server in the network (They might remove this server from the network). After finishing the finding, there are two activated licensing servers listed, one is Windows 2000 server as 2000 TS licensing server and another one is Windows 2003 (also TS) as 2003 TS Licensing server.
3. The 2003 TS Licensing shows they are using Temporary License.
4. We modified the 2003 TS registry to point Licenseserver to itself (TS and TS license are the same server). That fixes the logon screen slow showing issue but not TS licensing issue.
