Question about Televison & Video
Sharp TV 32j-s400 I have no remote for the TV's menu and was wondering if I can get to it without buying another Universal Remote.
If your present universal remote control have no setup codes, there is no other way, must buy a new remote control. But, you can get a try as last chance, by doing a code search method to your present remote control. If the remote control's memory has been programmed with any to synchronized with your TV, you can win. If you wish to get more details, check the sites linked
here. Setup code list, and setup
procedure to many popular brand remote controls are given.

SOURCE: Accessing Menu Sharp TV
I have a Sharp TV model 27F-S40 and also do not have the remote. I need to access the menu to change color, sound, etc.
Can I access the menu thru the channel or volume buttons on the face of the tv?

SOURCE: Phillips PC7225 Menu
I have a Philips universal remote. After trying half of the codes for Philips TVs, I came up with one which allowed access to the SETUP menu. It was 0621. This allowed me to run the auto channel setup, as well as fix some of the other functions. I don't know if this works with all remotes, but if you try different codes, you should get lucky. I'm sure it helps if you have a SETUP button on your remote.

You don't. A good "universal remote" available from Radio Shack (Phillips) for about $15 will provide access to all TV adjustments. Easy to program for all TV models, VCR's, DVD players, etc. About $35 + S&H for the Sharp remote replacement.

I too own the Disney Pirates of the Carribean television. We have it setup in my boys' room so they can only watch DVD's, there is no cable connected to it. However, everytime we turn it on, we have to use the remote to change the input to dvd. The large Mickey button on the remote fell out and my daughter lost it. Without that button, you can't change the input at all. Therefore we have a perfectly functioning television that we can't use.
I emailed Disney and they redirected me to the actual manufacturer of the TV, Starlight Griffin. The phone number is 866-387-1902. I called and within 5 minutes, I was told that I would recieve my new remote within 10 days at NO COST TO ME!!
I went crazy for days trying to figure this out so I had to share that info with all of you immidiately! Good Luck!!
