Try pressing the ARC, RATIO, 16:9 or 4:3 on your remote... sometimes it may be in the settings menu.

  • Anonymous Apr 24, 2009

Sorry, I missed you already tried that. Either theres a menu item that says vertical height or maybe your source is the problem. Does it occur on all inputs TV/AV1/Component/HDMI?

If it's only occuring on the one station, remember that your TV has an aspect ratio, but the source (DVD/BLU-RAY/CABLE/PS3) may need to have it's output aspect ratio changed.

The score on football games on fox and cbs are halfway off the screen. How do I fix this?

Hello

It is likely that you have the "picture size" set to a mode that does not match what the channel is actually providing.

Go to the Menu options on your TV and then look for the Picture options. Change the size between the different options (typically 16:9, 4:3, Wide, Fit to Screen, etc.) and see which mode works best for the Fox and CBS broadcasts.

It is likely you have the TV set to Wide or Fit to Screen. Both change the settings to make 4:3 broadcasts fill the screen of a wide screen TV. Changing this to 16:9 should allow you to see the information on the sides and bottom of the screen again.

For some reason the picture is now too big for the screen. the heads on people are cut off and I can't read all the print at the bottom of the screen. Like Score to basket ball games.

You are most likely viewing the picture in zoom mode. To return to a normal view, look for a button on the remote that says "Wide" press this button until the normal viewing mode is selected.

I have an older Zenith 32", the picture is does

If you are using a cable box, there should be a setting to change your "aspect ratio". Some offer options such as fit to screen, zoom, wide, etc. see if you can change this setting from the remote. Without knowing what model cable box you have I acn't get more qpecific, but try this first.

I cant get the whole picture to fit the screen. When I watch games the score is cut off.

This is most likely a setting on your TV, like stretch, or fit, or possibly on your cable box, or dish receiver. look at your dish or cable box settings and turn off any screen adjustments. Example under wide screen setting is strech , zoom, letterbox (choose letterbox).
The TV has these settings as well.

I have a T5054 TV and the picture has zoomed in and is way too big, however in the picture settings menu the zoom option is not highlighted in Component mode.

There could be a problem, but verify the settings as listed in the owner's manual as follows:

1 Press the MENU button to display the menu.
Press the ▲ or ▼ button to select Picture, then press the ENTER button.
2 Press the ▲ or ▼ button to select Size, then press the ENTER button.
3 Press the ▲ or ▼ button to select the screen format you want.
Press the ENTER button.
Press the EXIT button to exit.
16:9 : Sets the picture to 16:9 wide mode.
Zoom1 : Magnifies the size of the picture on the screen.
Zoom2 : Expands the Zoom1 format picture.
Wide Fit : Enlarges the aspect ratio of the picture to fit the entire screen.
4:3 : Sets the picture to 4:3 normal mode.
Just Scan : Use this function to see the full image without any cutoff when DTV
or HDMI 720p/1080i signals are input.
Press the P.SIZE button on the remote control to change the picture size.

And realize the restrictions as listed:

• In TV, VIDEO, S-VIDEO, and COMPONENT(480i, 480p) modes, all screen
modes can be selected. (16:9 ➞ Zoom1 ➞ Zoom2 ➞ 4:3)
• In COMPONENT(720p, 1080i) or HDMI(720p, 1080i) mode, 16:9, 4:3 and
Wide Fit can be selected.
• In Zoom1, Zoom2 and Wide Fit modes, you can move the picture on the
screen by pressing the ▲ or ▼ button.
•You can not change the picture size when PIP is set to Double.
•When Double ( , ) mode has been set in PIP, the Picture Size cannot
be set.
•Wide Fit can be used when watching a Digital HD (High Definition) signal.
Wide Fit sets the optimum picture format by expanding it both horizontally and
vertically. For example, you can reset the picture in 4:3 format to 16:9. Wide Fit
does not support all external devices (DVD, VCR etc.).

Picture Size problem with Samsung Flat panel LN-T3253H

You should contact Samsung service to know if the internal setup for the picture sizing was not adjusted properly at the factory.

Take care that some of these sets have a user zoom mode. Maybe it is in the zoom mode. Check in your instruction manual before calling for service support.
