SOURCE: kenmore dryer model number 110.66912691 not heating.

Check the house electrical panel for tripped dryer-circuit breaker-pair. Push off, then on. If immediately re-trips, the dryer has a dead short circuit in it. If they hold, then retry the dryer. If it now works, ok! If not, recheck the breakers as above. If tripped again, there is a likely short in the dryer's heater assembly. The drum must be removed to access the heater.

I have a old kenmore dryer and it won't dry my clothes, if the rubber gasket around the door is gone will this prevent drying? Thank you Gloria

That could be the problem or if it doesn't heat up at all it's probably the heating element in it. Any local appliance supplier should have either part part in stock or look up the model online and you can order one. Replacing them is pretty easy.

Door will not stay shut...........simply pops open after 10 or 15 seconds. No visible damage. No debris along the door pathway. Perhaps a new plastic latch. The old one looks fine.

You just need to replace the catch and the strike it is easy to install.

The door pops open after about 10 seconds. We have replaced the sensor that is located on the upper left inside of the door, to no avail. Any ideas? Also, I am not sure if this is the model #..

either the hinges have gotten bent from too much weight being put onto the door when it was open or your door latch might be broken, see if the white plastic door closer on the top inside of the door catches onto the gold colored latch that is at the top part of the dryer door opening, if either one of these are damaged you would replace both as they come as a kit. here is a parts listing:

Dryer door

The dryer door catch and latch assy is worn and needs to be replaced.

See this link to see which of them matches your dryer:

Any local appliance parts supply center will have this part in stock. It is howe3ver best that you take your "complete model number" with you when you go to get the replacement part. They are under $3.00 in

Use a knife blade to unlock the opposing plastic retaining tabs on the old part for removal. Make sure you change both pieces. The one in the chassis and the one in the door.

Thanks for using FixYa.

I have a Kenmore Elite HE4.THe door will not stay shut. It doesn't click anymore when I push the door to close it. Any ideas?

The catch side, not the latch side, the catch on the frame may have backed off some what. It's not unusual for this to happen over time. Take a peek around the catch and see if there are any adjustment options such as two slots where the mounting screws are, a hex key slot behind it to adjust the reach and so on.With a flash light close the door very slowly and from above as best you can see if the spring fed latch is near enough to the catch. Also try hip checking the handle to try closing it.If then it latches you may have a section of seal gasket that is misplaced or swollen. See, not being there makes this a very difficult call. I've given about the most options I can think of and I hope for you guys that one of them works. Also if your closer latch is similar to the operation of a screen door latch, don't be afraid to pry the latch lightly in the direction towards the catch/latch. Good luck and Thank you, Dana

Most likely the receptacle that the door latch goes into is broken. Go to local appliance parts dealer with model number and buy the $5 part, or order through Sears Parts Direct online.

check also,
  • the other ends of all cables connected to the relay,
if the other end of any part of the latching circuit has loosened, the relay will not latch closed when the start button is pressed.
  • Door Switch, it is part of the latching circuit
