My poulan chainsaw 3416 has a throttle that is stuck/locked in the run position and also the choke will not stay pulled out ?

The throttle is a simple plastic lever that moves a rod bent in a weird configuration to align and connect to the carbuetor's shaft. Turn the saw upside down and look under the end of the handle, there should be a cap screw, either phillips, allen or torx that releases the back of the handle. Lift it gently and remove the other end from the plastic clips that secure it. Under there you will see the problem...either jammed with debris or just jammed up period. The choke should be a simple plastic affair whose issue could be related to the throttle linkage interfering with its operation. Solve the easiest first then look at the other problem.

Why is chainsaw running with high revs

Anon it sounds like the choke has stuck out or the accelerator trigger is jammed.

Break will nor go back on, seems to be stuck.

The first thing I would try is a good cleaning. Remove the bar an chain and clean really well inside. I use a brush and brake cleaner.

Problem chain / break cover chainsaw

Hi, hold the cover in a vice where the bar nuts normally tighten up to, then pull the chainbrake lever back in the direction the handle bar would be. You will feel a click and the lever will stay back and the brake band will be released. Then refitted cover to the saw. Regards Phil.

Bit is stuck and cannot remove it. Have tried pretty much everything.

This was posted under chainsaws. If you are asking about a router bit, I have found that taking the collet out with the bit still in it and putting it in a vise. Tap from the bottom with something and it should come out. Be sure to have something underneath to catch the bit. I have done this and had the bit fall and break on the floor...

Please post back if you aren't asking about a router.

You have a stuck sensor.

Open the rear door and make sure there is no paper in there.

Remove your toner from the drum and make sure there are no bits of paper stuck under the toner cartridge.

Look inside the drum chamber for the little plastic levers that actuate the sensors. Make sure they move back and fourth freely.
