Question about Toshiba Tecra A5 Notebook
I have a Toshiba Tecra A5 notebook. The notebook failed to boot up as I saw "blank" on the monitor. On starting several times I discovered that the system actually is fine except does not display. Sometimes I can reach as far as entering password. The monitro just "blank-off". I connect another monitro at teh VGA output but it is the same. I suspected the problem is at VGA card (if there is any). Please advise.
It sounds like it is possible that your lcd backlight has died. it's not that easy to fix yourself. i would recommend bringing it somewhere to see how much it would cost to get it fixed, it will not cost as much as a new laptop. or you can just continue to use it through it's vga port but now it is no longer a laptop but a desktop.
