Question about AGA Legacy 36" Dual Fuel Kitchen Range

Open Question

I have an aga with a mk1 1 gas conversion. I turned it off 3 months ago for the summer and have followed the instruction to relight (turn dial to ign point, hold for 5 seconds then turn to ignite) and nothing is happening. I have tried to light the pilot by moving the small glass square but cannot see what I'm looking for and there does not appear to be a smell of gas??? Any ideas

you have an electric head on you BM valve if you turn off the power the valve will shut off if you want it to work with no power i.e. in a power cut you push the lever on the top of the electric head to the left and behind the stop so it doesnt return and the bm valve will be on manual

Light pilot light

Many heaters have pilot flames can be relighted with a match or push button operation. Many employ safeguards to prevent unburnt fuel from accumulating in the space or allowing an unstable pilot flame from "proving".

Most appliances have instructions printed or embossed on or near the pilot, gas valve or protective cover. It is very important to closely follow these instructions for your safety and that of others in the area. If you are unable to locate the instructions or follow them and relight the pilot, you should contact the gas company for assistance. This can be in indication of an issue with fuel, thermocouple, gas valve, etc., and would require a service person to correct.

First turn the dial on the hot water heater to the off position and wait for 5 minutes. Then turn the dial on the water heater to the pilot position. Press in the dial and use a gas grill lighter, long wooden match, or similar device to light the pilot. Once the pilot is lit, continue to hold in the dial for about 1 minute then release and turn the dial to the temperature setting that's comfortable for you.
